Sorry man. This inspection report from Woo will be a problem if you decide to dispute with PayPal.
Is buying a new pair of tubes from them necessary for future warranty purposes.

Were you not able to talk to them yourself about the audible hum outside the unit? I guess the only thing possible is that the tubes were defective and causing the hum? Itās just grasping at straws now but man this sucks and it not the experience Iād wish on my worst audiophile enemy.
More likely to be a transformer, most likely a small DC offset, they might not even get it at Woo.
Itās unfortunately about what I would have guessed. I doubt any tube amp manufacturer would admit small hums or crackles were a defect.
Iām sorry youāve had to deal with this @Souldriver.
Sorry to hear that! These things always get so tricky.
Would have to agree with this
I recently had a similar experience but as the seller. Parted with an amp and the buyer told me there was a significant channel imbalance, so I accepted the return and refunded them on good faith even though I had tested it before shipping out. I ended up shipping it out for a repair but turns out the technician couldnāt find anything wrong with it. I had shipped it right to the tech so I had to pay the labor fee which was about $150. Just lessons learned to always make a decision based on my own ears
I hope the good karma comes around your way with this
Maybe, but the tubes were still not working correctly and i am hoping that is enough.
I should have sent it back ASAP, the seller could have opened a dispute from UPS if he wanted but I saw no damage on the box.
I extended all the courtesy I can and am done with it.
@archer as you shown, there is a right and wrong way to do things. Meeting in the middle is also fine, but there has been no extension from the other side.
In the end THE AMP DOES SOUND GOOD. If I used just the lcd and senn then i would say ok it is not that bad.
Not sure. I wouldnt get the warranty anyway as i would be the 3rd owner, which is a surprise as the seller marketed it as if he was the first but told me after the sale.
I will leave this here and let the conversation get back to the amps.
Things go a little deeperā¦
I agreed with the seller to split the cost of warranty check plus the shipping back to him, but i will not put a penny towards the tubes. I consider this as my buyout cost.
He agrees, and i message both woo and the seller in one email what the plan is and to confirm shipping with the seller. And the seller will send me a full refund minus my part of the warranty. Great!
Well i hadnt heard anything in a few days, i call woo to see if it was followed up on. Good news! It was! Ok so ill hang up and call the seller asking to coordinate the refu⦠Wait, Woo adds something else at the end. The buyer decided he wants to trade in that wa23 and use it as an upgrade to make his WA33 an elite. Okay, if he wants to thats fine but I was not notified and he kept that off the email chain. Also important here is if he does that the warranty and shipping costs are waivedā¦
I will give the seller another day or two before going to PP and filing a dispute.
Mike from woo has been great throughout and understanding. I feel bad they are now caught in the middle. I spoke to him about the WA23 and he agreed it sound great but be wouldnt want to hear the noise either. He said the best of his offerings would be a wa8 but that is a decent step back.
Wow
The WA23 was relisted yesterday by that seller so I thought you both resolved this amicably

I wonder if he swapped a tube or not. It say original tubes so that would mean one is unusable.
Whatever,
I got my money back so it is closure.
so happy for you man, what an unnecessary experienceā¦
I got a WA22 a few months ago with a great selection of tubes.
I finally started rolling the past two weeks and I am even more enamoured with this thing. I really do think Iāve reached endgame with my HEkse and Gumby MB. I may get an itch to experiment with other DACs in the future, but this chain gives me so much joy.
A great looking piece too
Hey guys, anyone ever compared the WA7 3d gen to the Quicksilver? Someone is offering me one in exchange for a headphone and i am wondering which is best and which has more power, apparently the Quicksilver wins in both fronts?
Canāt comment on ābestā, and itās somewhat subjective.
But the Quicksilver will most likely have more power, just because of tube choices.
There is also going to be a compromise in the transformer selection for the Woo for packaging.
Currently I have no money for a woo wa22 mk2 but I wonder if I should save for one, im plan to use it A LOT if not mostly as a PREAMP, how much good of an option do you guys consider it to be at its brand new cost?
this is just a shot in the dark but Iām looking to get a WA23. If anyone is selling one or if you know someone who is, pls pm me. Thanks!
