The D7200 is getting very very hard to get 
Look out for there are clones and often times fake pics on ebay.
My personal recommendation is to get the EMU Teak if you cant find the D7200, it has the tunning you said.
Only thing is you have to get the removable cable version, and the stock pads are terrible, I recommend swapping them for yaxi th900 leather pads or stock d7200 pads, both are amazing.
It is bloody typical that this arrives hours before I head off to get married. I think I’ll leave it warming up until I get back next week.
A decent size but quite light weight. Particularly in comparison to the Pontus, Wavelight Spring 3 units I’ve had in recently.

With a name like La Voce, it has to be Italian! Be curious what you think of it, not one I’m familiar with.
Another piece of gear arrived yesterday, a BH Crack. It was poorly packaged and so this one is on the seller. I won’t have a chance to sort this out for a week or two but I am gonna have a close look and see if it can be saved so I can at least see how it does with my 560s.
Schiit Magni Unity w/ Unison Mesh Dac
I bought this to go on my desk as a easy all in one solution to use primarily for gaming when I don’t want to use my KEF LSXII speakers or when I need a more intimate gaming experience.
I’ve just barely put it through it’s paces for the first 20 min using my HD6xx to listen to some FLAC files via roon.
My initial thoughts are… Damn entry level audio is freaking amazing nowadays lol I mean this thing sounds phenomenal for under $200, as a one box solution to desktop head-fi audio. Not to mention it also has preamp outs so I could use it with my KEFs as well if I wanted.
Beginner audio is almost always the biggest (and sweetest) bump people will get. Going from bad to even just competent audio is such a huge jump. The good thing is the starter tiers have some of the most competition as well so that with some trickle down and companies chasing the “value king” title has meant better products overall.
Some of the newer dongle DACs are blowing my mind. It’s flat out insane how technically capable some of them are these days and literally the only thing they’re missing is power filtering. Add a $30 USB filter on to them and they trade blows with basically every single sub-$1000 desktop combo unit so long as you aren’t driving anything crazy.
I’ve been slowly reorganizing things around my desk which will shortly mean repositioning my speakers in relation to the amp. This is going to need new speaker cables. This time I went with a twisted pair cable, 2 x 1.5 mm² OFC copper which should be just right for my 6 ohm speakers at around 4m lengths. This is Autoleads LSKV2-150 blau, made in Germany ostensibly for use in bespoke car stereo systems but also very suitable for hifi passive speakers.
One of the most confounding headphones I’ve ever come across. It’s simultaneously incredible and one of the worst headphones I’ve ever heard at the same time. Stock tuning is a brutal 13-ish decibels above neutral around 2000-4500hz, there’s like a stock 15db bass shelf that doesn’t bleed whatsoever and punches incredibly hard with tons of rumble, HD800s levels of comfort, super light, and most importantly, they’re the hardest to drive headphone on the planet by an absolute fucking mile. They take 22db more volume than the Sus OG. Estat speed with dynamic driver slam and impact, with planar levels of control all packed into a frequency response that is wholly unusable. I yanked it down by 10db at 2500hz along with some surrounding areas that brought the 2519hz peak on my set down by 13db and they became listenable and transformed into an insanely technically capable headphone, but I’m running them at almost -0db on my Timekeeper Voyager Max monoblocks lol. Like actually. I can’t wait to see the shitshow of these popping up used any day now.
Also I should mention I’m running them through my iESL at the 96ohm impedance mode which tilts its frequency response by a bit away from being so bright, so that is also adding some extra driving difficulty, but putting it to the 16ohm setting and dropping some volume results in them being even brighter and more fatiguing.
It was finally time to get a new office chair for my desk. Got a remanufactured steelcase leap v2 from Crandall Office. New foam and upholstery, cylinder, arm rests, etc. and an atlas head rest.
Plus something extra came in yesterday.
Very curious. I’m always intrigued when it comes to new drivers but these look like they’re way out there. I’d be curious to hear a pair and just as curious to see if my Mentor could drive them.
I don’t recall how these came to my attention, but I had signed up for notifications when they were on Kickstarter, though ultimately I took a pass.
I’ll be interested on your further thoughts, and the technology is definitely out there. Pretty esoteric stuff, sounds like a rough initial listen, and their impedance changes and demands as frequency changes makes them one of the most difficult loads imaginable. Not doubt it affects their perceived FR as well. Still, interesting stuff! 
Got these and….yeah. Not worth $99. Really tight clamp force, even more so than a HD600, I also hate the cable. When I connect it to my HiBy R8ii, it doesn’t recognize it for some reason unless I use an adapter. I love the pads, seem like velour, but the clamp kills it for me.
Sound wise, not liking it either. Big bass, but bass resolution is not good (but I don’t really care for $99). Highs sounds shrill, I can’t listen to it high volume even on my Nitsch Magni Piety. Mids, I think actually sound pretty good when you hear it. Buying a hart audio cable for 4.4mm to at least try it with the HiBy DAP and my Valencia amp.
Yeah, sorry man, they’re just… garbage. I know YMMV and all that, but there’s a whole thread on head-fi for these where the true believers still love them. Which is hard to believe! I can’t think of a worse, more disappointing audio purchase that I’ve made. Everything you said is correct and correlates with my experience, and they seem pretty inefficient. A cheap headphone that needs a lot of power!

Yeah lol. I am pretty astonished that anyone praise these headphones, so I thought it couldn’t be that bad. But man… double whammy on both terrible comfort and terrible sound, like wth . It almost feel like a huge prank with this kind of bad headphone.
I bought another one of these after selling my first. This is a D1se2 - it’s the 2 part that makes a difference. I have owned 2x D1se DACs and they were good but didn’t blow me away. The D1se2 however stages just how I want it to - out in front, images are discrete, depth and layering is so easily perceived. This is lacking the weight of the Pontus 15th or Wavelight which I have recently grown to appreciate but it is not lean or bass light to my ear. Plus, turns out my Rivo can do many things I didn’t realise until recently, including parametric EQ - tonal weight can potentially be added to the D1se2.
I always thought I could fall back to one of these if I got tired DAC hunting. I sent the La Voce back yesterday for myriad reasons (though I enjoyed listening to it overall). I didn’t intend on picking up another D1se2 for a while but one popped up on eBay for pennies so I grabbed it.
This is the first of two DACs to arrive this week. The second of which could be endgame for me. It’s one I’ve had in and out of my cross hairs for years now. I’m looking forward to listening to both on Sunday.
I actually bought this back in November and it has nothing to do with audio, but @Souldriver’s mention of Levoit in another thread reminded me that when winter hit, my house was so dry that I bought 2 Levoit humidifiers and also this water distiller.
I’ve used humidifiers before but until recently, I didn’t know anything about how sick they can make you if you use tap water and don’t clean them on a regular basis. Rather than having to buy and store bottles of distilled water, I decided to buy a distiller.
It’s not the most convenient thing, as it’s noisy (mostly fan noise) and takes about 3 hours to distill a gallon of water. But I’ve gotten into the habit of running it first thing in the morning for the humidifier in my workspace (I’ll stop it after 30 minutes to pour some water into the humidifier to get it going while I wait for the distiller to finish) and then a second time for the humidifer in the bedroom, so I don’t even think about the inconvenience any more.
Finally. I have wanted one of these for years. I have owned Mojo, Mojo 2, 2Qute, Hugo 2 and TT1. I have heard Dave. I have loved all of these DACs but when I heard/owned them, I hadn’t nailed down my cans, chain or even my preferences.
I have only recently - reasonably well documented here on SA - understood my preferences. My chains has been nailed down for a few months now and I have auditioned almost all the DACs on my hit list. I didn’t prioritise getting a TT2 in part because I still didn’t quite understand the differences in spacial presentation from the likes of Denafrips, Rockna, Aqua, etc..
It was having the VMV D1se2 in at the same time as a Wavelight and a Pontus 15th, etc., that made me realise I may prefer what some consider more artificial image separation and transient response. This is a criticism I have heard leveled at Chord by many respected SA members. If i do like what I hear, it may be that having a TT1 as my primary DAC for many months in one of my old, favourite chains has set my expectations on what I want to hear.
It has just arrived and I’ve got it plumbed in and warming up. I don’t think I will able to wait that long before listening. I’ve never heard a higher end Chord DAC for a while and have never heard one in the context of my current chain so I’m very curious to see if this is what I’ve been looking for all along, or it’s just another notch in the bedpost!
