What have you purchased recently?

Very curious your thoughts on it! I had a mixed experience when I tried it, but easily could have been source gear issues or genre of music.

I got a Gremlin in and finally got it hooked up today. I’m only a couple hours in but first impressions are that it is shockingly good for the price.

Right, isn’t it?

Mine came a few days back too, and it was cheap enough to be kind of an impulse purchase.

I was expecting it to be sort of an audio “toy”, but it’s not! I also expected the stock tubes to be crap, they’re actually quite decent for being part of a $120 amp. They were a little rough sounding at first, kind of bright and peaky in the treble. After 15-20 hours run time they’ve smoothed out, and the whole package sounds pretty damn good! Certainly punches way above its price. I’ve got some Mullard 12AU7 new production tubes coming that should be fun to try in it.

It would be cool to do a comparison with this, a Schiit Vali, and a Nitsch Piety. All high value, inexpensive little amps that sound better than they have any business to…

The Gremlin is a fun little amp! :+1:

I have once again began my decent into keyboard madness. I blame YouTube feeding me content that breeds an itch that needs scratching…

I love vintage and modern boards. Although I don’t think these AnyKeys are particularly pretty, I do enjoy MaxiSwitch switches. Plus, the functionality is unparalleled. Not too bad in terms of volume for when I have to travel into the office, too. I have had comments in the past regarding my louder keyboards

Thank you, it was my first real trade.
I am still overwhelmed that it worked out and that it was so smooth and uncomplicated.
I am not only very grateful but also very happy about it.

I’ve been getting back into Guitar.
I stopped playing regularly almost 20 years ago when I first suffered from Carpal Tunnel so it’s been a bit frustrating trying to get back to anything resembling acceptable.
Bought myself a new practice amp.

Nice, what kind of guitar do you play?

I own a lot of guitars, I collected a lot of them in the late 90’s.
I’ve been mostly playing my OG Parker Fly Deluxe, it’s a guitar I’ve always really liked, not really a fan of the Demarzio pickups in it, they can sound a bit thin, but given they are a none standard size, and no one makes pickups for them anymore I’m kind of stuck with them.

Awesome, that is a very unique and versatile guitar!

I haven’t played in decades, I get the itch to finally buy either a Paul Reed Smith Custom 24, or a Les Paul Custom with dual humbuckers.

The advancements in amp emulator technology since my playing days would also be fun to play around with. Alas, my left hand and fingers would limit my ability to get close to my old playing level.

Good luck and enjoy getting back into it!

I have a 98 custom 22 fixed bridge with dragon2 pickups in it, and a circa 99 custom shop 57 reissue Les Paul, Neither is in my goto guitars list, both sound fantastic, but I’ve never really been able to get on with the neck on the PRS, and the Gibson is so heavy I just never reach for it, and the vintage hardware is less than ideal.
The 3 guitars I regularly reach for are/were the Parker, my Tom Anderson Cobra, and the Ernie Ball Axis.

I think I’m going to pick up a Strandberg. The variable scale length put me off them, but the new entry level one doesn’t have that, and I think the headless design is conducive to me quickly picking it up for a few minutes when I have time.

Most of my IEM cables are from Xinhs and IVIPQ (and a few Hakugei Cables). Ive never had a bad experience with either of the brands. Among the best Chinese sellers on Aliexpress, IMO.

This NICEHCK Moon God Furukawa is the best sounding IEM cable I’ve heard so far. Shame as it’s damn ugly!

Tha Xihns cable I got is terminated in 3.5 mm. I got it to plug IEMs into my WA6. Shame it’s hard to A/B it against the NICEHCK as that is a 4.4 mm.

I got a Dunu Lyre Mini cable with interchangeable terminations. It’s a really nice cable to use because of the various terminations and paracord wrap, but it sounds like ass.

No idea if these will be any good or not, but they look interesting enough that I decided to give buy them earlier.
