I really liked the 50th Anniversary remaster that I heard via streaming (Apple Music) so I decided to purchase a physical copy. This one is pretty cool because it contains the Dolby Atmos mix (24/96) along with the remastered stereo mix in 24/192.
My parents have all Pink Floyd albums, original release, sometimes twice on different media.
Which reminds me, I need to finally edit my way through the vinyl recordings of A Momentary Laps Of Reason and Meddle…
One of my favorite Pink Floyd albums!
That’s awesome.
I really like this remaster. IMO the original had some compression issues which this remaster largely addressed. I think it’s really added to the separation and image clarity.
Those original vinyls are a treasure. Hopefully they still get plenty of play time.
Norne Vykari cable for Susvara. I am agnostic about headphone cables making any audible difference, but I am both open-minded and committed to maximizing my hifi chain from the wall to my ears. Plus, it’s pretty. ![]()
Never heard a difference with your utopia before over stock?
I purchased a Fatfreq Maestro Mini today. Sort of a niche bass monster IEM, but I figured why not?
…
I’ve been expanding my IEM collection lately. Now that I’ve finally found a few different sets of tips that actually work for my strange ear canals, I am able to actually enjoy IEMS. I recently purchased the AFUL Performer 5 and Thieaudio Hype 2. So far, Ive thoroughly enjoyed both.
Thought on Aful? I found a decent price on the performer 8 and was thinking about it.
I love the Performer 5. For the price, it is really good. The Performer 8 is a bit different from the 5 as it has less bass and more upper mids and treble. Not my type of signature, though I’m sure there are a bunch of folks who enjoy it.
Unlike the common conception that people are influenced by confirmation bias, I’m influenced much more by rational skepticism. Do I think maybe I hear something “better” with a fancy expensive silver cable? Sure, but my brain also tells me that’s not possible, so I can’t let myself believe it. Neurotic, I know. lol
What I DO know is that I like pretty things and I spare no expense when it comes to my hifi passion, so either way I’m good. ![]()
I was a real cable skeptic, and there are many cables whose influence I CANNOT discern on either my 2 channel, or HP or IEM setups. As my ability to listen develops though and I’m better able to focus on sound character particulars I understand I have learned to differentiate fine nuances more often than not with my equipment.
It’s not always about the cost, that is purely a marketing scheme to make money IMO, various builds and components do influence the character of the music. You just have to learn how to listen and that’s the really hard part. Good luck in your journey and happy listening always ![]()
Sometimes i wish i didnt hear differences and tbh sometimes i do not. Ie: for my chain and my use the antipodes s-stack was just as good as their K50. That is a statement to the stack and not a dig at the K50.
If you feel something doesnt make a difference or a positive one to your ears then sometimes all the better. If youre pressing just remind yourself that money could also buy a nice meal.
I purchased some Eletech Baroque Eartips. These tips are fantastic. The comfort and seal are great. The only negative is that they wont work for longer nozzle IEMs. They are similar to JVC Spiral Dots in shape. In feel/fit/comfort, they have a soft material similar to Divinus Velvet Tips. Currently the Baroque are my favorites, along with the Dunu S&S and the Divinus Velvets.
Just a quick follow-up, but I unfortunately am going to have to return my Fatfreq Maestro Mini. I enjoy the sound signature very much. Unfortunately, these IEMs dont have a vent and the amount of pressure created when sealed causes a suction effect that makes me extremely nauseous. I couldnt even wear them for more than 5 minutes. It was a disappointment, but on the positive side, musicteck provided me great customer service. Nothing but good things to say about them.
Hey hazi you should look into 64audio iems if you haven’t already. Since it seems like you have some pretty high pressure sensitivity they should be perfect to combat that with their pressure relief system. Genuinely one of the most comfortable iems I’ve ever worn.
Hope you can find something you like ![]()
I got the optical rendu and everything in today and got it all setup and running.
I didn’t really think it would be a huge jump but damn just wow this thing sounds markedly better than the ultra…
Speaking of if anyone wants to buy a ultra rendu v1.3 running the latest firmware let me know, will be listing it soon
You’re late to the party.
I’m toying with the idea of buying a V2 at the end of the year since Sonore always had black Friday deals or maybe CAF show pricing.
