So I don’t know if anyone else remembers @M0N posting about this. I remained curious as I generally like boutique and unusual things.
I ordered one at the end of last month. It took a while to clear customs but it arrived this morning. Unpacked, it has had a ding on the front panel (forgivable as it has travelled clear around the world!) but it works and works well.
Initial impressions, balanced output is a step up over single ended. Individual note clarity is very good. Strings and plucked guitar sound gorgeous. Good bass extension.
Some brief thoughts to compare with the RNHP as I have it and many of you do too. Staging is a little less wide and there is less depth. Imaging is on a par. Where it shines is with detail. Individual notes are slightly more distinct and “clean” making it sound less sweet than the RNHP but as a result the mix feels more discernable, slightly less blurred. Drum beats are clearer and defined. Bass seems very similar. String plucks and piano key strikes feel present.
Nice little amp, glad I got it, I feel it is very worth the low price.
Edit to add: “balanced output is a step up over single ended” is very headphone dependant. I think it might be impedance related.
