Vista Audio Spark

Know there’s a few people on here who have had one of these, would be cool to have them drop thoughts here. I’ve heard one and it’s pretty great for the money

If all you need is 20W it’s a pretty great sounding little amp.
Basically it’s a TI chip amp, with high quality parts, overall neutral, with smooth treble, I’d honestly want to listen to it on different set of speakers than the tiny radials to definitively describe it though.

Looking forward to mine. Will be using it with a pair of decware tiny radials

The Audiophiliac raved about it a few years ago, it’s a shame that a lot of people’s desktop solutions are space limited and an amp w/passive speakers is a non starter.

I originally wanted a PS Audio Sprout100, but landed a deal on the Vista Spark first. It is quite nice. Even for the 20W, it still provides great slam and fullness. It also keeps the treble quite smooth without being rolled off. I’ve used it on Klipsch RP600m and Polk R100 and it sounded great on both. Really nice clean setup for a desktop speaker

P.S. The pot is quite shit though, but still nice at what it does. They focus on the internals and you can still have two inputs to switch back and forth.

Has anyone used it as a headphone amp from the speaker taps? At that price it might be an awesome amp.

Got my Vista Spark in a couple days ago. Along with a pair of Tiny Radials from Decware, its a great little desktop setup. Doesn’t take up much room. Its been a great setup for movies and videos at my desk.

Nice! I had done a head to head with some heavy hitters against those Decware TR’s on the desk w/ a nice front end and they held their own relative to their volume capabilities. Very nice pieces all around.

Right. So I don’t have the experience or the audiophile vocabulary necessary to properly relay my time with this amp but I’ll try.
I am using the IFi zen blue as my source and it is a most convenient one at that. Been trying to get amazon music but can’t get signed up because they want an american credit card for that! So I just stream from the prime section. FFS! Anyway Zenblue with the ipower 2 ,Vista Spark 2 and the Klipsch RP600m. Interconnects are WBC stuff and Micca 14 gauge speaker wires.

I have to say I am very pleased by this setup and it has surprised me numerous times.
I had gotten this as my bedroom set up for my pc but it sounded awful. There was nothing special or none of the synergy magic that Zero fidelity told me about! I was so worried that I had totally wasted a huge amount of cash that’s I couldn’t recoup. But then, I remembered that my room was also not ideal (11’ X 12’ ) so I reluctantly took everything out to the living room ( 12’ X 19’ ) ? I think but it’s not a square and has way more room ) and then carefully placed the speakers moving them around a lot and was totally mind blown. Totally. As you guys say " I was now hearing things in a whole new way " and I haven’t had my fill yet.
The Spark surprises me with it’s power and finesse. I am sitting just 6-7 feet away and it doesn’t get to be too much for my ears. The Spark is so good with the Rp600’s. You get a lot of that treble but not offensive in any way and I am treble sensitive. It makes me feel nauseous if it’s too much in a closed room or car. Now as for impact or fullness this is where I can’t really say cause I just don’t have the wider experience with hifi but I don’t find the RP lacking too much in the bass for a small speaker imo. I can hear the bass chords even kinda see them being played. I know this is called a bass light speaker but the Vista can pump it out from what I can tell. It really does sound full on some recordings and thin-ish on others. I’ve used it on dancehall and tbh I don’t feel like it lacks when it comes to bass. When it needs to go lower than that well that’s where I need subs I guess.

Overall the Vista works great for my space gets plenty loud enough for me to enjoy it outside the listening space without sounding like it’s struggling to push the klipsch. When I do listen close it has a lot of detail and I haave gotten very good sound staging and pretty good imaging since moving it out in the living room. and as Veritas pointed out the volume pot is shit lol. A huge dead zone from 11 to 2 I guess? This amp was not cheap for me but I do feel like it was worth it and a big plus was so easy for me to buy. Gotta give those guys a word of thanks, it was my easiest purchase thus far. I just need to get a cd player now.

Congratulations @Timmeh very nice set-up. I’m happy you mentioned NOT liking the RP600’s in the smaller room. I had the EXACT same problem with them. I dislike the way they sound in both my small rooms and actually adore them in my 2 larger rooms. The difference is night and day to me, and i have tried multiple times with various amplifiers to enjoy them both on my desktop and in my near-field room and i ALWAYS pull them out not understanding why they sound so bad in the smaller rooms and sooo much better in the larger rooms. Ha! So happy i’m not nuts, you heard the difference too! :+1:

Also, these are no way bass light, every time i hear a reviewer say that about them i wish i could simply let them hear these in my living room, they sound much bigger and bolder than their puny dimensions would have you believe them capable of…but only in the bigger rooms  it’s gotta be something in their tuning and build …no other explanation

Thx Nick! Your own experience is a boon to me, confirming that I’m not deaf and clueless lol. I wanted to give an earlier account in the Klipsch thread but wasn’t confident in my ability to do so. My only gear is the one stated and of course my knowledge is lacking with hifi. So I can’t comment on other amps but the Spark doesn’t seem to do them an injustice at all.

I am enjoying the pairing and depending on the song being played I can only enjoy it standing , bobbing my head and tapping my feet. I can only say the Spark seems to do it’s thing without taking away from the characteristics of the speaker as described by the reviews I have watched.
