Utopia vs Mysphere 3.2 vs Susvara vs 1266 Phi TC

@Blu 1266 phi for 2600 :wink:

Yeah, I quite like the v200 + 1321 combo - it has really great punch and way more power than I need for essentially every headphone I own currently. I would love to eventually upgrade again though to a better r2r dac and probably a v281 or something similar when the funds are in place but I really really do love this dac and the r2r sound.

Honestly though, going from an asgard 3 to the v200 wasn’t as big of a jump as the dac was to my ears tbh. The asgard 3 is actually insane for $200 (even though the price just increased :frowning: )

BROOOOOO don’t do this to me right now :sob:

Asgard 3 is my fave 200 buck amp, g103s comes close but the asgard was truly a steal at the price

Lol yep that’s what I’m talking about

God. I’m rereading this thread and it isn’t making me want to buy all 4 cans in the first post. Jts making me want to buy an aic-10…

Tbh I should rraly get utopia again. 1266 and myphere are held back by looks and sus by juice needed to run for me personaly. Thats probabaly a good thing seeing as how I should realy keep some cash free for canjam though. I am realy hoping the raal ca are basicaly LCD-R+++ tbh

I hope they iron out some of the complaints I had above. Although still iffy on the fact that they would need yet another specialist amplifier, but if it was good enough it could be justified lol

I’m almost sold on the MySphere’s, which would give me 3 of them, but the question becomes 3.1 vs 3.2.

In your case you have 2 amplifiers that have amazing synergy with the 3.1, so I’d go that way. The 3.1 is more neutral (personally slightly prefer the tonality of the 3.2), but the synergy aspect outweighs that handily for me in this case (with the amps being the dna and the woo). I actually wasn’t that big of a fan of the 3.2 on the dna, and good but not amazing with the woo, where the 3.1 was clearly better on both amps

Mind doing a breakdown of 3.1 vs 3.2? I wasn’t aware yiu had had both

I have tried both, but only currently own the 3.2. And honestly it’s hard to compare, because the 3.1 are much more picky and super dependent on the amp where the 3.2 is more consistent across amps. I really should have specified my picks amp wise for the myspheres, because some of them are more geared toward the 3.2 and others more toward the 3.1

So if I had to generalize, I think the 3.1 has a more technically capable driver, and also a more dead neutral signature, where the 3.2 was a slight bit less technically able but had a more pleasing tonality to me personally. I do think the 3.1 can offer better dynamics, spatial recreation, speed, etc, but other times it can sound like dogshit with the wrong amp, where the 3.2 isn’t as picky. But they aren’t 2 entirely different headphones, you can both tell they come from the same maker

And iirc the 3.1 are the ones that need a ton of currently right? So if you want to use portable 3.2 are the only option?

Yes, I would love to try the raal on a better amplifier. I have been very close to buying an hsa-1b a couple of times.

I would say the mysphere definitely has imaging behind me. the sr1a (out of the jot r of course) sounded flat in comparison (in terms of depth)

fwiw i had the utopia in the past but out of the v281 so not he best pairing. For me, with the chain I had at the time, the d8000 pro was superior. But if a good deal on a utopia showed up or I got a new amp that would be a good fit for one, I would be interested in repurchasing.
I do have some other headphones that are commonly grouped in this category though
although I’m guessing I will sell them all and keep susvara, 1266tc, and mysphere and a comfortable cheaper can. I really do feel I reached endgame some time ago and now just enjoying ā€œpost-gameā€ content if you will

I’d agree with that, the utopia is too picky and only really reaches the status of the rest of the other 3 headphones when you go nuts with source gear, otherwise it won’t hold up as well

:+1: lol

Afterglow? :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Just for anyone reading this far down, I just found out myphere does a full j home demo with both frames, 3.1 & 3.2, and all pads for $100 or so. I will probabaly be doing this not too long after can jam
