I have an EtherREGEN w/mojo joule 3 psu going to my antipodes s30. I was going straight out of my router before and with the regen the differences are pretty noticable. Improvement on most fronts. Bit better details with nicer textures. Much more coherent stage as well. Was even good with the stock psu too.
Recently got a Fiber Media Converter from smallgreencomputer, and this little thing surprised me too. Depth in stage has become way better and songs are almost “slowed” down in a way that everything is just much more coherent and notes just seem to carry further. Im sure the FMC benefits the regen more than on its own so not sure if i could recommend by itself, but i have not had it very long lol.
Pretty crazy how just these little ethernet tweeks can improve your streaming gear. Waiting on a FTA Metis for an ethernet cable upgrade as im currently using a standard cat8. These impressions are pretty new as i haven’t had both in my system that long but they are for sure making a nice difference.

My setup it thus.
I can echo @bmn1251 comments on the sonic improvements but I think they need to be taken as a lump, meaning also using an improved Ethernet cable, fiber to the EtherREGEN and a very good PS, otherwise you’re leaving performance on the table.
So you’re looking at roughly a $1K investment here, not just the cost of of the unit.
Additionally, these fuckers get HOT, SUPER HOT at 12v, much cooler at 9v. I didn’t try it at 7v as 1) I don’t have a 7v PSU and 2) 9v seems to be the consensus on the interwebz for the sweet spot.
As you can see, I threw a passive heatsink on mine, with a layer of thermal paste in between. The weight is simply there to improve contact. The heatsink does a very good job of lowering the temp on the chassis of the unit by 15 to 18 degrees checked with a fluke thermometer, so it’s worth while.
Feel free to chime in @M0N or anyone with experience but; I believe there’s potentially some additional performance to be gained by getting a audiophile grade switch and a clock and syncing everything while at the same time bringing my NUC into the same switch as opposed to the remote connection I have it located in now but that’s probably going to more than double the current expense and I just don’t feel the need to go there at least at my current equipment level downstream.

I peek at Uptone’s website every now and then to see if there’s finally a date for when the EtherREGEN 2 is coming out, and was surprised that the OG model is for sale again.
The EtherRegen 2 is meant to be coming out in early 2024, and is advertised as an upgrade, including Gigabit on both sides.

I’ve been looking at the LHY SW-6 as an alternative. Seems like a better package to me.
