Take me to school "Audio Education"

Thought it might be a good idea for a thread aimed towards understanding and questioning the world of audio.

So, if you have something knowledgeable to share or if you have questions on anything audio related put it here.

Goal here is to try and learn something new and interesting!

I’ll start with this video from the headphone show about ampandsound. Some may not be the biggest fans of their amps but it is cool to hear from the amp designer himself, Justin Webber.

I love all of this dude’s videos. Learned a lot of acoustic stuff from him.
Anybody have experience with any of his products?
They’re all out of my budget but someday it’d be cool to retrofit a room with this stuff.

Dave (EEVBlog) had Doug Ford on a few years ago. So for 7 very enjoyable videos on microphones and electronics related to it, click below.

This video helped me the most out of any other to get a good sound from my former 5" bookshelves, my room is highly asymmetrical so following other methods always had flaws.

The key is to position the speakers where they have the best bass following mathematical principles, because bass cant be improved later without very expensive bass trapping and construction, and then focus on the high end by putting all the furniture in strategic spots that diffuse the annoying highs.

Apparently a new wave has been discovered. I wonder if it’s audible?

To me, the article reads like this has potential uses in ultrasonic imaging, etc. more than daily life.

This seems to be the paper:

Thanks for the link. I don’t understand most of the concepts being talked about but it’s pretty fascinating.

I am relying on dangerous half-knowledge here. So take a shovel of salt with my post.
