Very little information about these Russian-made headphones available, so I decided I would make a thread.
I currently have the NM-1 on loan and should get a chance to hear the current flagship, the Trion ($4200 MSRP), soon.
Current impressions are that the NM-1 is very unremarkable and not very enjoyable.
One really odd thing to note is that although the headphone uses mini xlr connectors like zmf, audeze and Meze, my cables did not work properly and I had to use the stock cable. If I used any other cable, the “center” and “twisted” were reversed in the wiring section of this test. (thanks @M0N for debugging the issue)
I’m really getting tired of all these wooden headphones. For a while only a few high end headphones seemed to be wooden, it’s getting annoying seeing every maker go for it for some reason lol.
Either way, great to see some poeple get hands on with these. Ive been super currious about them for a while but they are just expensive enough and just hard enough to move along that I havent made the jump. Will be currious to see impressions on the new flagship when it arrives
The wiring of the stock cable seems to be the opposite of every non-snorry cable I have tried (again using this test). What’s even weirder with the Trion, is that the stock cable sounds reversed. In other words, the trion headphone wiring is the same as every Audeze, ZMF, Meze, etc but the stock cable is reversed. So I am using an aftermarket cable.
I can’t understand how this is possible lol
EDIT: just got these, so Ill continue to listen to make sure I didn’t make any mistakes
