That is such a cool picture! I have zero artistic talent nor an “eye” for anything aesthetically pleasing. This picture gives me great joy while at the same time making me sad at my lack of skilllzzz  :joy:.
Awesome setup! :muscle:

I know someone who kept a TH900 to listen to it with a 20db bass shelf.

That’s disgusting. They’re no friend of mine… :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Working remote this week while visiting family. Rocking the mobile workspace setup (using my father’s office space, so the desk is a little tight with his iMac in the background), and using the “transportable” HiFi setup with IEMs.

My IEM collection has grown nicely in the last two weeks: FiR Audio VxV and Dunu Zen added to the team. But Tin P1 and Koss ksc75 still get honorable mention.

“Transportable” signal chain got it’s latest member added this week, an iFi xCAN (at this point I’ve decided the fingerprints are a feature). So now my rube goldberg signal chain is complete:

Hiby R5 → Chord Mojo (via SPDIF Coax) → iFi xCAN → iFi iematch2.5

Sure, the R5 could do it all by itself, but where’s the fun in that!!! A proper transport → DAC → Amp, all battery powered. So much fun! (and it sounds great)

I didn’t realize you had picked up the Zen. I’m curious to hear what you think about it. I was a fan when I owned it for a while.

My initial impressions are pretty positive. Detailed, energetic, fun to listen to. But I’ll need more time with it to decide if its just a “short term fling” or a “long term relationship”. It’s not like the VxV where I knew on day one it was a keeper. Maybe the VxV will be the “faithful wife” and the Zen will be the “girlfriend on the side”. Fun to hookup with on the weekend, but not the one you want to wakeup next to every day…

One standout to me (good and bad) is how much the Zen sound changes with source. I think that is part of why having an opinion on the sound has been tough.

This wasn’t my ideal setup that I had in mind, but it’ll do for now. I wanted to clean some stuff up, lower the rack height, get the monoblocks on each side, and raise my amps when my second amp platform gets in.

What other acoustic treatment you got? I’m curious…

I have two bass traps in the front corners and four large panels on the first and second reflections.
I occasionally move one of the panels to the front center image.

The “beginnings” of a setup. Finally received the cabinet I had made earlier in Sept, took 5 weeks to make/ship but it was worth the wait, smells wonderful and it’s got ample room to show what I want and doors to show what I don’t and if I change my mind about things, it’s a breeze to reconfigure with a change of parts here and there.

Apologies for the poor quality pics, I had the lights down just so the drawing wouldn’t reflect much, which is one of the things I need to decide. That drawing, my Queen of Sheba as I call her, the glass reflects everything. My wife said to just move it elsewhere where the light won’t hit it directly. Well, I can’t do that, I want it there, so I’m researching now museum quality glass that does not reflect. The alternative is my Cali Sk8trGrL but I think it’s just not enough for the space. First world problems.

@Veritas Behold your recloker and the PS. I ordered the split cable and it now powers both the reclocker and the streamer. I haven’t put it to the listen test, because the room is just so far from ready… which brings be to the second thing I need to work on, room treatment.

Thankfully the room is small 9X12 so I won’t need much beyond panels to treat the first reflections on the side and base traps. I’ll have enough furniture, plants and stuff in the room to break up the second reflections hopefully. I’m also waiting for the rug to come back from cleaning. So instead of listening now and judging and fretting blah blah blah, I’m going to continue the build process and listen in baby steps. I’ll get the bass traps first because I know I’ll need those, but the rest I’ll listen and make decisions based on what I hear from there.

@NickMimi the black box connected to the SOtM three musketeers is a Mesh satellite, I’m using that one exclusively for the streamer with nothing else connected to it and an ifi Power Elite brick to power it. (that’s probably way overkill, but might as well throw it in there since I now have the complete SOtM kit.

I’m going to have to see what I do with the sub, but at this point I think a 12" sub in a room this size is just too much, but I’ll listen to it, place it as best as I can and then figure out if I need to correct things there.

It’s just that every step requires other related things as well as, money & time. I’m in no rush.

I envy your dedicated listening space! I have to admit that I checked out the gear for at least a couple minutes before I noticed the drawing or skate deck.

All are very nice!!!

Slight update. No more headphones for me. If these go, they’ll be funding 2ch.

Ok so this was from last year and just never got around to uploading it. A big thank you to Mon and Co. ( just the entire Asgard thread really lol with Mon’s humongous and justified articles ) For passionately singing the Asgard’s praises and DMS for his thoughts on the DT880. I am very satisfied with this setup atm.

Now this I started working on in March and got it done in September but only just started listening and enjoying it this month! My experience with hifi is almost non existent as I have only had past ownership of PA gear and really old vintage stuff from the 70-80’s and this was 20 years ago! lolz
But I am totally enjoying this setup and craving more ( which is a bad thing for me lol ) but tbh I am good with this for the time being.

Are those the RP600m that I spy? Solid set imo. Mine are currently living with the TV in the living room using a plain old AVR as the source. Once I get my home office set up I might transition them to my desk and try to assemble a more curated chain for them.

I love mine! They were initially bought for my desktop but the room didn’t play nice with them. Since I moved it outside I absolutely enjoy them. I will be working towards a huge integrated upgrade in the next couple of years. For now I have zero complaints about how they sound with the Spark 2. Depending on the recording I am always " wowed " by the pairing.
