just because I have th900 on my head after 3 weeks and wondering how this would sound on 1266 ![]()
This is a topic for another thread - but, the 1266 Phi TC was IME outstanding on the v550 - no compromising truth! Still though, I’ve backed off the 1266 mainly because they raised prices and it became more expensive than Susvara, but also because the Fostex TH9xx’s still have this air of fun about them that I’ve not heard replicated in anything else - and at $2K msrp vs $6K USD…
Also, nice shares ![]()

Speaking of albums that kinda up and disappeared, back when “X Ambassadors” was just called “Ambassadors,” they released an EP called Litost; and before Phox’s self-titled album released, they released a kind of video EP called Confetti.
(NOTE: Two songs from Litost were re-released on Love Songs Drug Songs and most of the songs that didn’t make it from Confetti were released as deluxe version bonus tracks, but still.)
Anyway, here’s a track each from Litost and Confetti:

This album (sea change) has been in heavy rotation the past few months. Great album, great recording too.
Been listening to some Phonk and related sounds recently:
If you know the glow up meme then you know the song below
The soundtrack to most of my HS and College parties
Same. Was feeling nostalgic today
Actually that was a great post. I felt like i was missing CDs from the last time a did a full CD rip and that post sparked my memory. I had a box stashed with with 20 or so more CDs that i remembered.
I thought i had some KOL albums but maybe i just ripped them from others. But I do have this one…
I have to see if i have more CDs stashed somewhere…

I have been hopelessly addicted to this woman since discovering her last month with a previous release. This new album had proven to be a PITA to get outside of Korea but thankfully my guy @Littledrummerboy was able to come through ![]()
Gina plays a traditional Korean instrument called the geomungo which is a stringed instrument. It reminds me a lot of a Japanese koto and for good reason because they share lots of similarities, including the deep tone each note produces. I’m a sucker for traditional Asian instruments being incorporated in modern music and this just scratches that itch incredibly well for me. You can really hear the depth of skill she has for the instrument with each pluck and it shows in the rich sound it produces.
Love the sound of a japanese koto!
Playing the kono oto tomare album on the utopia is just fantastic ![]()
And a 17-string koto on the d8kp is damn impressive
I should check this out
nice! does that have the Hawaii b-side track?
I wish. It only has You only live once, and Mercy mercy me.
I am sure my one friend had it at one time. He had all the insanely niche and rare stuff for the strokes, hives, kol, and qotsa. He would always make me listen to this version of QOTSA’s Make it wit chu where everything was the same except the drum timing was a tiny bit off. It made it a totally different song.
