If you like Middle Eastern music, than you need to check out Amir Diab. He is one of the most popular Egyptian artists out there.
Listening to this on flac through the Dianas and I didn’t know some of the songs on this album have actual deep bass! I got the vinyl coming on the way ![]()
@Andy77 I love that recording you shared, the vocalist is incredible. Something about the less familiar ways that they make melodies with middle eastern stuff that is so captivating to me.
@Hazi59 I love your recommendation, thank you!!
I’ve been super busy the last few days without much sleep, but that doesn’t mean less music I have listened to! So here ya go.
Some say this guy is cheesy or overrated but Idc. It’s fun, I have fun listening, I like it:

I have also been getting into Doja Cat, really like her voice and style. @Littledrummerboy will approve:

An electronic artist I have been enjoying is Hot Shade. Sure the songs sound a little generic, but I think they are still generally well done. I also like all their nature aesthetics in their album art on Spotify:

Well that’s that, I need to get some sleep soon!
If you liked my recommendation, youd probably like Sarbel. He sings most of his songs in Greek verses and Arabic verses.
No pic, but just finished listening to Tchaikovsky’s 5th Symphony…Jurowski/London Phil.
Memories!! A much earlier version and Beethoven’s 5th were my first lp’s…a gift from my uncle who, in retrospect, was a bit of an early audio enthusiast himself. My dad had bought (at my urging, at age 10 or 11, a Pilot console stereo with a tube amp and a Garrard turntable and built in speakers. (A long time ago, lol)
For a little while I was that kid again…sitting on the floor in front of it…soaking up the wonderful array of tone colors that only a full orchestra can produce.
I have since played both symphonies several times (timpani) and also Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker. Ahhh…memories…and on this newer headphone gear more details, but that old Pilot sure was warm and rich sounding!
I was told last night that Barbara Morrison had died recently, so today I did some re-listening to her iconic album, Live at the 9:20 Special:
If you’ve never heard this album, you should! But if you’re only going to listen to one song on the album, maybe try the mashup of “Alright, OK, You Win” and “Everyday I Have the Blues.”

For this performance, Utada gathered a group of renowned musicians led by bassist Jodi Milliner, the band master for their tour in 2018. The session is recorded and mixed by sound engineer Steve Fitzmaurice, who also worked on the new album. Video was directed by David Barnard, whose filmography includes Radiohead’s “In Rainbows - From Basement” and Eric Clapton’s “LOCKDOWN SESSIONS”.
I’ve been back in a Hikaru mood lately and along with the latest album, I have really been enjoying this studio live session that came with the limited edition of the new album. The guest musicians bring a nice touch to the music and a different spin compared to the original recordings. Definitely a highlight and a recommendation if you are a fan, and it certainly is a good time to be a Hikaru Utada fan right now ![]()
Dang, how’d you get that? Bluray rip?
yep ![]()
My favorite track is #2: Dance Like This
Oh yes, thats Brain with Boosty Collins - getting a lil funky
The whole album has a good vibe and I’m digging it
