I really started exploring more of Yeah Yeah Yeahs about two years ago. I really wasnât familiar with anything beyond Zero, Maps and Y Control. Theyâre fantastic, have been around for a good long while and they are not pigeonholed into any style yet their stuff is always identifiable as theirs.
I have all of their albums now and if you havenât, check out the âlushâ version of Spitting⊠very cool listen for hi-fi.
I will, thanks for the heads up!

Man, I canât remember the last time that I heard this, but I remember it.
I Love Jack Johnsonâs music. Itâs great song writing, musicianship, and recording/mastering all wrapped in a sonic bow of melodic harmonies. Heâs also a genuinely nice guy (I met him in the early 2000âs before I was ever a fan of his music).
This album is so well recorded displaying so many nuances like fingers rubbing along strings and tapping on guitar bodies, and the open sound of the recording space really comes across through the recording.
Daybreaks is an especially sweet sonic treat.
Happy listening.

Iâm very picky about the rap I listen to, butâŠ
âTruly thereâs beauty in this ugly
Scared to put seeds in the Uterus that love me
Growing, knowing my roots indeed rotten
Producing bad fruits, all my family trees droppingâ
Who writes like this?!?! INSANE
The guy just has a cinematic way of pulling you into his life, and I rarely hear an artist in general like this. I canât get over how good he is. His raspy textured voice, the sampling.
You seem to like conscious rap. Based on what you posted here other artists you may like are
Black thought
Backwash
And if you just want pure word play and rhyme crafting
DOOM is unmatched
And an underrated favorite of mine Aesop Rock
