Is that the Field Lice?

Is it modular?

Not that I know of, don’t think there’s any options or exchanges

Oh, that’s great! I have to admit that I assumed it was just a RNHP with a Topping D70 style delta sigma DAC attached. As is done by many manufacturers when creating a AIO. Good news!

Honestly, I wasn’t expecting all that much when I first heard it at a show, but it’s seriously a lot more than that lol

Reading these impressions, and checking out reviews on the Fidelice RNDAC makes me appreciate what Rupert Neve accomplished in his career.

I found this list of albums recorded at Sound City. Though they can differ in genre/style there’s a definite coherence to their sound. That’s gotta be credited in large part to that Neve console, imo.

It is sold out.
Do you guys rhink is going to be back in stock?
Too much money for me but I used to have the RNHP with BF2 OG and the synergy was wonderful.

I’m guessing they will since AKM is back online producing chips.

Good to hear the fidelice turned out to be worthwhile, the RNHP was a great amp and that period of time in my setup means a lot to me. I will have to keep an eye out for one on the used market, sounds like it would make a great solid state AIO solution for a desk

That puts it in range of things like V590 Pro, Meier Corda Soul, maybe Moon Neo 430HAD for new prices. Sounds like possibly a cut above those?

For those looking to get more of the RNHP that is a big jump up but I semi assume maybe its just not meant for that crowd.

I really like the RNHP. So much so that I am using it over the questyle at rhe pc. It just gives a very easy presentation. I dont want to say organic or natural without better analysis, it just doesnt feel forced in any way.

I would definitely say so depending on the headphone

effortless is a good word

Testing as a preamp, it’s really quite good, I wasn’t expecting it to really do this well driving power amps. Now it’s not to the level of a compatible preamp cost, but again given it being an integrated it’s pretty impressive. With either the internal dac or running a dac in. Really this thing with either powered monitors or some passives with a power amp would be a great complete setup. It has great overall control and also weight which is nice to see since most dacs with a pre out in this class feel a bit more on the limp and lifeless side of things, also still great spade and dynamics where others feel more flat here.

I guess also a streamer would be a good to have as well. Currently just been using it direct into a windows laptop and no real issues, I did try a usb reclocker and it did improve the sound but not sure if it was worth it or not. I did briefly try an alpha usb into the spdif input and it was good, but I have a feeling this was designed really more for usb operation.

I do think in general balanced sounds better, more defined and technical, although single ended isn’t bad.

Also testing digital filter settings, really the stock all up setting is just worth keeping it at, really the best balance of space and transients.

I do really think the DAC really carries this, since trying more dacs and spending more time with the internal amp does leave me left with a feeling that they didn’t really focus on really improving it outside of somewhat lower noise, more driving power, and while a bit more technical, it’s not a full step over the rnhp. it just gets a pass with how damn great the synergy is here

The rnhp killer has arrived

According to facebook and hfg users they sound 100% identical, I have never heard a clone that delivers that, even different units have variation

They supposedly sourced the exact same components which I believe are chinese pirated

For 130 usd makes me wanna get one just to say it sounds different online, and to know if it at least competes with the 150usd bracket

Defining the word clone.

I’ve been wanting to get one too just to play about with, I’d possibly look at upgrading the caps on it, from what I saw written about it, it’s apparently like 90-95% of the original sound wise. Only thing is I don’t really have many headphones to judge it on anymore :joy:

What’s the going rate for the RNHP nowadays? I see the new build is way more $ and the supply out there is mostly expensive B stock.
