Congratulations :+1: very nice speaker :pinched_fingers: i have had some time w/ their bigger brothers, my favorite dealer out in Arizona was showing them off with the extremely tall and large NAGRA HD monoblocks. :flushed: Very detail oriented speakers, you should really get allot out of them w/ your set-up. Nice

Okay, I don’t want to give too much in-depth impressions because it is much too hard to describe. Feel free to ask me any questions.

Here are things that the speakers excel at:

  1. It throws a big big sound. Very surprising. Very wide, very tall.
  2. It gives a ton of room information. Lots of detail while remaining as smooth as possible. I can be sensitive at times, but can listen to these for hours at a time.
  3. Superb imaging and presentation.
  4. Lots of texture and surprising bass texture for such a small speaker.

Positioning has been somewhat forgiving, but way fussier than my Harbeths. Having a ton of fun and really enjoying them. Michael Borresen is certainly some genius engineer.

If you don’t mind my asking, what did you pick them up for. Hard to pin down pricing as there are different revs and people aren’t always accurate in their ads.

4750, local sale. I think it is the lowest in the last bunch of sales. I don’t think they show up that often. I think they tend to average 5.5-6k when they show up. D1.1 runs about 9.5-10k.

I would like to hear the reason for your switch from the Harbeths, what you were looking for or if it was simply a case of being ready for a switch. In the end they’re still both two way bookshelf speakers so maybe the change isn’t as drastic but even from their design and build, they’re completely opposite direction and philosophy.

From my experience with the brands, it’s a pretty damn drastic change, can’t really say they’re anything alike

That’s what I was thinking so it’s the reason I asked. His GG is a constant though.

I would say my two primary genres of preferred music are acoustic vocals and classical. Harbeths were perfect and possibly ideal for that. I also went the deep end with a full tube setup. Tons of bloom. Just swelling with emotion.

After a while, I started to chase a bit more technical traits and definitely more of the presentation, stage, and room information. I got a taste of that with a bit of SS, then the Ayre, and now the Raidho.

I feel that it gave me a lot more technical prowess, without being harsh and analytical. I still enjoy the vocals and listening for hours and this keeps that.

Lastly, I kept upgrading my electronics and the Harbeths kept scaling. I was starting to get curious to see what would happen if I got a pair of speakers that fit the same level.

TL;DR - Lots more detail, but remains unharsh and not cold.

I’ve been surprised how much a well designed loudspeaker can scale. I’m 3 months into my Omegas and I already know they won’t last forever in my system. They’re probably the bottleneck at this point, but despite that, still scaling.

Okay, it’s been over 3 weeks and I have been averaging a few hours a day of listening. I am comfortable saying that now I know this setup as my new reference now.

These guys throw a ridiculous large sound. The speakers are almost half the size of my Harbeth, but creates a more grandiose sound. They also go surprisingly low. Just genuinely surprised each day and how technical they can be, while non-fatiguing enough to listen to all day.

Pickier with placement, but worth the patience. I’m definitely a big believer in this line up now. I’m “all-in” with the whole Audio Group Denmark team… Just never paying full price for any of their stuff.

I just looked up their website, is Raidho actually part of that group? Doesn’t show up there.

It is not. The designers split off to start their own companies (Borresen/Aavik/Ansuz).

Raidho is now owned by Dantax

Interesting, thanks for sharing.
If they sound at least as good as they look I’m sure you’re having an amazing time. Congrats!

I haven’t been posting much on the forums because everything is just sounding great. :ok_hand: :ok_hand: :ok_hand: all around. Quite pleased.

I can see myself getting a Borresen Z-series or even a Scansonic for a secondary system in the future.

Post a nice picture or two of your speakers here please, maybe one of the DAC in the Lampi thread too. I like it when the posts have photos, people like pictures🤗

So very happy to hear how much you are enjoying your new stuff! Congratulations and happy listening always!

@NickMimi
Always happy to oblige :call_me_hand:

Changes: I have them pretty darn wide now. Note how close they are to my side panels. They are almost 11 ft apart and pointed almost to my ears. I substituted the PS Audio P5 for an Ansuz Power Distributor. Lastly, I took my Isoacoustics Gaia I from my old speaker stands and put them underneath both of my racks. Sounding damn good at the moment.

Tubes on the Lampi are RCA UX-245 Globes with an RK 5U4G
