Listening to this right now
It’s prety good, currently 5 songs in and the recording on this one is pretty fun! I can’t say i’ve heard any of their other stuff so i can’t comment on how much more coherent it is nor anything but pretty good! Like you said pretty laid back, atmospheric and a bit on a more electronic side! good stuff, was gonna listen to the third album in particular you mentioned but spotify dosen’t have it so rip there.
Please also listen to Untrue! Some beautifully dark and brooding 2000’s digital landscapes to put a mood on top of whatever you’re doing
Gotta love this reco where ever it is, this is true dubstep before it just turned into random noise. Proper british dubstep. All My Homies Hate Skrillex | A story about what happened with dubstep. - YouTube Absolutely great youtube documentary on it and 100% want to own it on vinyl at some point as I found out it did get released on it.
Gotta second the recomendation on watching this documentary, dubstep has very little to do with skrillex and much to do with bass sound design, in the video’s comments theres a tracklist (which is long af, and also album names from dubstep subgenres pinned)… all of those are sub-bassy, alternative, UK made bass bangers.
Two burial albums have already been recommended here, thats basically the best place to get to know real dubstep music, or for anyone looking for something with good bass design.
Hey guys. Looking for some new work music. Preferably something a bit more amped up (think synth wave, not lo-fi/coffee house jazz) but only hard requirement is it needs to be either instrumental or not in english
Try out:
It has some instrumental stuff in there.
So going through the Verite speaker thread and reading @M0N 's impressions gave me some thoughts.
I remember there were always the cheesy CDs on supermarket displays, but are there high quality environmental sound recordings? Those things that were recordings of “thunderstorm” or “rainy drizzle”.
Rain storms always seem to be oddly relaxing to me, and i cant imagine how insane a high quality recording of that on a high end system could be.
I can imagine you could kinda maybe find something like this in those surround sound demos. But I agree, ambient sounds can be quite captivating and relaxing. I had a phase where I would just search “4K Walks”, pick a city I liked and boom, sounds like you live in a bustling city. Of course there were walks with rain in them ![]()
Hey Guys,
Been on a massive kick for Nina Mae McKinney recently. Anyone have some other good artists/albums/whatever they may be to check out (besides fitzgerald and ellington since my library is already full of them)?
probably my favorite of her performances and I only just watched it now (only listened before)…
