Liquid Spark: A love letter

Due to some unforseen circumstances I’ve had to rotate the Liquid Spark back into my chain. Ive heard about Schiit and Cavalli synergy and experienced it first hand but even at this scale it is still impressive. (Full disclosure, Gumby - LS) It isn’t anything that’ll blow your socks off or have you questioning other gear in your chain. It’s just fun. Simple, lush, and fun. Like a Chocolate Torte. Yum!

Likely my favorite 100 buck amp tbh, it’s just got a fun factor that most really don’t in that range. Nice warmth, width, impact, and tonal density without sacrificing technical performance really considering the price point, just generally solid sound with some added fun

Comments like that are the reason I’ve never been put off by your audiophile snobbery. lol Honestly man, it’s refreshing in the hobby to have people with your experience that still find joy in the entry level gems. The hobby can get real stupid real quick.

I no longer have room for certain things I’ve gotten rid of that I would have loved to have kept just because. The Geshelli Enog 2 Pro is another of those items I’ve got nothing but pleasant memories of, perfect for what it was.

Sometimes I almost buy a Spark just because. I sold mine a long time ago when I was stupid.

I still keep mine around its such a lovely amp. I recently even fixed with contact cleaner when the pot got dirty not too long ago. I also am on of the lucky few that have the full stack. its still the only amp I own that makes my 990 sound great. and due to my love for the synergy of those 2 alone Ive kept it around and don’t see myself ever really getting rid of it.

This is all using dongle dacs

My neighbour owns a liquid spark > ananda

He wasnt really surprised when he heard the anandas through my funk as maybe he expect more scaling but honestly probably the anandas just had better synergy with the LS, more musicality if not better technicalities.

So synergies ftw, a little off topic but:

Then we both tried the anandas on the grado RA1 amp and had our minds blown away because the anandas (which I dislike) had turned into this silky, musical, warm and dynamic piece. I dont dislike the anandas anymore lol.
