Day 3:
Okay, so the day isn’t over yet, but today has been a quite a journey, so let’s write some stuff up. First off, I owe @Polygonhell a HUGE thank you for your advice on wearing the MYSPHERE, you definitely fixed me. Specifically this comment about the wings touching the front of your ears…
…made me realize that I was wearing the MYSPHERE too far forward on my head. I had originally had the bottom of the headband basically tucked behind my ears, and yeah, moving it back that half an inch or however much further back made such a big difference.
First off, it’s now behind the frames of my glasses so I can wear my glasses and the MYSPHERE at the same time without hurting my head. It’s not about to fall off of my head anymore and I’m getting much more usable range in terms of being able to move the wings in and out while still having the headphone sound good. And having the driver better aligned with my ear also means the headphone doesn’t need quite as much gain. So yeah, it took three days, but I’m finally wearing this in a way where I could imagine wearing it on a regular basis.
Now backing up a bit, during my previous email exchanges with LB-acoustics, Heinz at one point said:
Did you ask Jack Wu already? He should be able to make a very good offer for a used but refurnished MYSPHERE 3.1
So now that I was finally in a good place with the MYSPHERE and I could actually see myself owning one, I reached out to Woo Audio to see if they could give me a deal on a refurbished MYSPHERE. Woo Audio responded saying that they could offer me a refurbed MYSPHERE for $2500 including free shipping, which seemed like a pretty great price, so yeah… I bought a refurbished MYSPHERE 3.1 today!
And of course, I made sure to post in the deals thread in case any other forum friends wanted to get in on it.
Seriously @Polygonhell, thanks so much for the tips on wearing this thing, it helped a lot.
Also, I’m going to stop posting daily updates now that I’m not trying to evaluate whether or not I’m going to buy the MYSPHERE at the end of my demo.
P.S. Tried again with Ellen just to double-check. Yeah no, still doesn’t work on small heads.
