Just doing a little catching up on some recent THE FIRST TAKE videos and goddamn I forgot how good and talented Reol is hahaha 
Edge is one of the best op/ed from the Summer season of anime and it really hits hard in this studio one take atmosphere. Also Sixth Sense is one of my favorite songs from her and while you can tell she is definitely nervous, being her first appearance on TFT she pulls through. The lyrics hit so hard too.
I really should listen to more Reol… Imma do that rn

Reol is really cool. I honestly found her because I’m a big Giga-P (producer) fan and Reol x Giga music always gets my hype.
She drop a new song DDD:
“Oh Mommy, I’m a Breaker, DDD DDD DDD DDD DDD DDD”. That song is super awesome lol. It’s going to a preview of her album dropping in 10/18. So listening to Reol again is the good choice cause her new album is dropping next week.
Also, Reol as a redhead, *french kisses. She looks great with red hair!

yes i’m really excited for her new album, it was lucky that I came across her first take videos last night, otherwise I wouldn’t have known a new full length was so close 
I’m behind on releases again, I just can’t seem to keep up lol I did however manage to catch up till about late May / early June earlier this summer. So I’m not super behind like I was before just a little behind

There were a lot of good releases in Summer. I remember enjoying Summer music a lot with things like Aimer new album, Milet new album, Sora Amamiya new Cover album. My favorite album probably has to go to Milet -5AM album. I just really like the way Milet sings and my favorite songs in the album is probably “HELLCLUB” and “December”. For anisongs, I say the ones I really like were: Shiyui – Happiness of the Dead (Trend Tune is in the same single and I think Trend Tune is waaaaaay better), Tsuzuri – NAME is really good and the singer is only 16 (talk about talent!), and MyGO!!! - Shiori (the signer VA is Hina Youmiya and she is awesome and I love her voice).
You have to catch up to Fall because there are a lot of good album dropping (Yoasobi album already drop, Reol next week, and Ado either next week or after that week is this month) and some good anisingles like from ClariS, Shoko Nakagawa, and Junna. 2023 is almost over, but it was such a good year for Jmusic. Even Western music was pretty awesome in 2023.

RIP BUCK TICK vo. Atsushi Sakurai. Was never the biggest fan, but I have a handful of favorites from their discog and own an omnibus of theirs. Their impact on the visual kei, and by extension jrock world, couldn’t be overstated.

Yep, hoping to at least see her concert twice and hoping it’s in a nice venue. The time frame looks short, so she might be doing only 1 coast. Most likely might be west coast, so I gotta plan my flights carefully.

Just put 9 hours on my 1st session on random shuffle with normie music with the Susvara. Session 2 on the same day after dinner, putting about 3 more hours going back to re-re-listenng to my favorite album on the Susvara again cause it really feels like the Susvara has gotten way better to me right now.
1 of my favorite Jmusic album of all time has to be Supercell - Zigaexperientia. My favorite song in that album is Mr.Downer. Man, I really love this album. And to top it off, I really love the song Mr.Downer, it just sounds so good and badass to my ears.

Shoko Nakagawa is really awesome, you’ll enjoy going through her discography. That entire 16 bit anime is a great nostalgia blast. From the old school opening singer, to the old school voice cast (my favorite is Ayako Kawasumi which is duh because of my name), and the old school visual novels. It also got a nice blend of new school with Aoi Koga voicing the Main Character and doing the ending song which is a great song as well.

Man, I love listening to Mayu Maeshima since her Myth & Roid days, but this song really hits differently. This might just be in the moment of things, but I want to say this is my favorite Mayu Maeshima song of all time… Plus the anime music video depicts the main heroine of that arc perspective and tells her story in a romantic/wholesome way. That song plus the anime music video, everything about this just gets me, just gets me… 
They really did choose the perfect girl to sing this song. Thank You Mayu Maeshima for this beautiful song that I will put on repeat for a while.

After that shibayan was doing both jazz, electronic and psytrance. All combined in his first album. Then he went more electronic on the next ones, tons of physicality in his recordings.

After his electronic albums, he just went and did 10 jazzy bossa nova albums inspired by touhou. These are my favorite non brazilian bossa nova records. Great technique for recording instruments while keeping that “home studio” sound that can feel very organic. The vocalists are not gifted or experts, but they put their souls in their singing giving a sort of amateur charm.
