It has some different design implementation around feedback (which you can turn on and off with a toggle) and a few other points but generally speaking I think itâs the CFA3 youâve heard about. I never owned one or heard one (although did want to at some point).
Rumors are itâs going to be in the $5K price range.
Yep I asked about this in the Cfa3 thread about a year ago or so and they responded with a ![]()
Very good lol
Much easier to get one, maybe to easy and a major back log may occur?
Who knows, weâll see I guess lol. At least itâs easier ordering now since both mimic and musicteck now have them in the us
May be my time to finally get one. Been wanting one forever.
Hello,
how good are they, if you donât mind me asking?
I can imagine under the Japanese craftsmanship that it could be quite sweet and accurate in sound as you know it from the Japanese.
Whats easier to get. Kobos or Jfopps posts? Nice seeing you again buddy.
Appreciate it bro. Itâs definitely been a while. Been super busy and got involved with several other hobbies, but been creeping my way back into audio the last week or two.

So the response I got by email: âEddie will release a 6AS7 amp Fall 2023. No 300B amps in the works.â
âRetiringâ
This is an interesting development. Finally there might be a âmodernâ EC amp capable of driving Susvara and the likes.
Maybe, he said that before they announced the Studio B, which was originally just supposed to consume some of the residual parts they had.
I think Craig likes making amps, he just hates running a business and dealing with customers.
Just an FYI, mimic has had some major issues getting them, so if they arw made to order it may be an issue but if they simply have stock i would assume its not one
Yeah, not too sure. It does say in stock on musicteck. Not sure if thatâs true or not. May or may not find out soon.
Looks like Audio Technica just annouced their new limited flagship headphone and amp combo. Itâs funny because I just mentioned yesterday that the ATH-L3000 is my favorite headphone for my current setup and with my Allnic HPA-5000XL fully burned in. Canât afford the new tube amp rumored to be $84,000, but I might try to grab the new closed-back headphone if itâs not a bright headphone or costs $9000 like the last limited wood back release.

Interesting it uses âoff the shelfâ lundahl output transformers (albeit rather expensive ones, about $3K a piece) rather than something custom wound.
I thought I was far past the point of balking at high end prices, but like, 84k, for a headphone amp? Thatâs just kinda insane, that would be really hard to justify
It has to be for the set right? Like both the amp and headphones together? Even then itâs still wildly expensive. I guess all you can hope for are extreme dealer discounts, if they offer that lol
