The arichilis heel could be the Usb C.
When plugging and unplugging too many times.
But the path is not necessarily stupid if you take into account the data rate and what else is behind it.
Hdmi Arc could perhaps make gamers happy.
Or other things that can be connected to it.
Looks like a new upgrade to the SR25, really liked the original SR25 so this should be pretty good for someone looking in that sort of price range for an Android DAP
The one upgrade on the SR35 that immediately caught my eye is the dual band wifi. The older SR25 was only single band 2.4 ghz…so this alone may be worth the upgrade to some (for me it is, if it sounds just as good or better than the SR25).
It was foreseeable that this would happen.
Since many are also away from Tidal because of this.
I liked Tidal better back then when it still offered lossless music.
Apart from that, my personal experience was that Mqa is superfluous on good systems.
Where it really convinced me was in the mobile sector where the quality tends to drop when you’re on the move.
Looks like they finally have a name for it now. It’s called the Sony MDR-MV1 and the release is listed May 12, 2023 (360VME software says June 2nd though) for about $400 - $500 (people saying under $500). The Sony MDR-MV1 is going to be released alongside with their 360 Virtual Mixing Environment software “360VME”. I am not a fan of the looks since it reminds me too much of a Sennheiser HD600 series, but the idea is really cool and I hope it works out in reality instead of just sounding good in theory.
(Software 360VME information)
With the measurement service, creators can accurately measure their hearing characteristics in the studio and create customized 360VME profile data. Using the profile data and dedicated software, the headphones virtually reproduce the sound field environment of the studio. This enables users to produce studio-quality spatial sound content such as “360 Reality Audio1” in almost any location. Sony partners with three influential studios in the United States and Japan, and each studio will start providing measurement services and dedicated software expected in June2.
In addition, Sony’s MDR-MV1, an open-back3 monitor headphone planned to be newly released, will maximize the performance of the 360VME, and by using them together, creators can reproduce the sound field environment of the studio with even higher precision.
1:360 Reality Audio uses Sony’s object-based spatial sound technology to provide an immersive music experience that feels just like being at a live concert or with the artist recording in a studio.
2:Please contact each studio for detailed start dates.
3:Structure that does not acoustically block the housing.
This product uses an open-back acoustic structure that reduces reflected sound inside the headphones, enabling excellent spatial expression through accurate sound image localization in a three-dimensional acoustic space. In addition, it is equipped with a specially developed driver unit that achieves ultra-wideband playback and wide dynamic range playback. It precisely reproduces the musical expression intended by the creator, including the depth and details of various sound sources, including stereophonic sound. In addition, it achieves a natural tone and comfortable wearability that does not cause listening fatigue even when used for a long time.
This product has been developed in collaboration with sound engineers at various production sites, including Sony Music, in order to realize the sound quality and wearability that creators want. It is a product that is co-created with professional sites by utilizing the professional monitor headphone technology that Sony has cultivated over many years. With the spread of high-resolution sound sources such as 3D sound and high-resolution sound sources, the evolution of the production environment and recording equipment is required, and we will introduce the “MDR-MV1” as monitor headphones for creators, which will set a new standard.
In addition, this product is designed to maximize the performance of the “360 Virtual Mixing Environment”, which reproduces the sound field environment of the reference studio for sound production with headphones with high precision. It supports creators’ 3D sound production.
Interesting positioning, the dac is seemingly below the kassandra sig LE and above the normal sig, would assume it might be a solid state or most likely hybrid design vs the all tube kassandra series. I do remember with stuff like the new ianus that was what they were going for
