Honestly not a fan of manufacturers jumping on the multiple amp/dac sections tbh, from whatā€™s out there it tends to lead toward more but less quality options vs a single high quality section.

Imo if you make a really good amp and dac section, you donā€™t really need multiple options, to me multiple amp and dac sections just seems more like compensating. But curious to see how it is nonetheless

Yeah, just feels like youā€™re gonna end up with two amp sections that arenā€™t as good as one SS amp. I do like the idea of having a tube section, but Iā€™d rather have the best the DAP can be instead of the most versatile.

Very curious about this one. Itā€™s interesting that Kennerton is willing to work with different distributors to manufacture for them and sell under another name. (Like LSA). Not as crazy about the huge logo on the grill but at least itā€™s a classy looking logo.

Apos Caspian looks like it carries the same cups and driver as the Vali. but with a different headband, different pads, and an Apos branded faceplate. My guess on price would be $600-800.

Well this looks pretty interestingā€¦a hi-end closed-back planar

Honesty looks very nice, love the look. Also knowing DCA they will nail comfort too. I just worry about the price, thatā€™s pretty high lol. And with the track record from them, itā€™s likely to be a hard sell for that money, so Iā€™ll have to see what happens there lol

Give it a few years and they will do a collaboration with Massdrop for a Stealth XX for cheaper

My guess is they designed the hybrid stage and went ā€œwell this is super easy to implement separately tooā€.

Asr ā€œreviewedā€ it for anyone that wants to look. Pretyy well the only things of substance is 23ohm, middle of the road sensitivity (not directly posted and idk how to back calculate it) low sensitivity, and pretty even looking FR

At the very least I hold some high hopes for its tonality since that seems to be what all totl closed backs struggle with (rognir, R10P, stellar, hd820, etc)

Edit: ASR says 549 mV @ 94 dBSPL while jude say 370. Thats 82 and 87 dB/mW respectively. These are going to need some real juiceā€¦

I want it to be good, just because Dan Clarks headphones have stellar build and comfort.
Pity they generally donā€™t sound like theyā€™re priced.

More stuff to add in my search of perfect closed backs

really would be dope if they sound good, well worth the price considering that everytime you look at high end close backs choices are fairly limited.

Pretty soon 4-5K $ for 1266tc and Susvara wonā€™t seem such a stretch

How many 4-5k cans have been dropped this year? 3?

I donā€™t know. Just seems anymore that everytime I see something that looks interesting it is 3-4K (msrp) minimum.

Or, a $6000 IEM (even though it could have been had for 5k at the time). Good thing I resisted.

Ainā€™t that the truth. 3 daps I want to try, all MSRP over 4k. 5 cans I want to try. All MSRP over 3k. That portable amp I want? 2.5k. What about the desk top one? 12ā€¦

Jesus fuck does thus hobby scale in price quickly

I feel ya, almost all the headphones Iā€™m interested in are expensive as hell and I want an aic10 for my desktop amp lol. At least a ddc and kobo424 are way cheaper than that and are likely to be my next purchases.

Honestly, I could just sell a bunch of stock and grab all this stuff, but Iā€™m unfortunately too responsible to do that.

Lol, yah, donā€™t do that. Audio is play money only. As for the 424, there is one for sale on myheadfi for like 1100 usd iirc. You wonā€™t regret picking it up at all.

And yah, the desktop I want is aic-10 as well. Iā€™m guessing thats not exactly going to happen though. Realy wantbto demo one for a while before I make that kind of jump tbh
