What tubes do they use?
Also, that looks more like that other tube amp (cannot remember the name of it…think it starts with an A).

300B power tubes. Input tubes I’m guessing are 6SN7 or 6SL7.

rip your wallet if you roll 300Bs.

I think I’d like tge aesthetic more in all black metal tbh

You don’t like seeing tubes at all so you’re looking for a unicorn. Let’s be real. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

It’d probably be better for price too since wood these days…

Nah, I like the aesthetuc of exposed tube it just doesn’t fit my life style.

Lol. I’m not in a spot where I have extra money to spend. After all, I’m still paying for something I am in the middle of buying :eyes:

SS rectifier, interesting choice for what I assume it’s going to cost.

Tubes? and CD thingamabobs

I don’t know if it’s relevant to anyone’s interest, but to paraphrase Jason Stoddard from Schiit audio ā€œWe’re making some weird USB in/out CD player thingā€. I’ve toyed with the idea of getting back into CDs for nostalgia and various other reasons. Bandcamp allows free digital downloads when you buy a physical product and I’d like to see Apple delete/rename all those offline files to pseudo random gibberish. I’ll never forgive those tuttlenecked bastards.

I hope it keeps the same footprint of the Magnius/Modius/Jotunheim/Bifrost and release it with a similar foot print updated tube amp that he hinted at in that video.

I forgot to get time stamps because I’m a terrible human being.

Well Schiit, that ain’t fitting on my desk.

A post was split to a new topic: Meze LIRIC

Not sure how ā€œnewā€ this news is but it’s the first I’ve heard of it…

It looks like they are creating a silent revision of the Susvara with stealth magnets for it rather than just bundling an amp with it.

Didn’t the Sus always have stealth magnets? He1000se as well I think. Recently trickled down to lower tiered models.

Ok, I always thought it was a new technology for Hifiman but I could be mistaken. It could be that I didn’t notice it before as it wasn’t as in your face like it is now with every model.

Yes always had stealth magnets, it’s just a bundle with a decent discount f you want the amp, which I think $16K on it’s own, though they appear to have removed the standalone version of the amp from their site. You would have easily gotten that discount for the bundle from a dealer anyway.

Anybody planning on picking this up? Honestly seems pretty interesting as a portable solution. They seem to have the bases pretty well covered and they claim it uses the same DAC chip as the Pro iDSD Signature. I’m still rockin’ the Mojo for my daily use but this has me curious. It will be very interesting to see a comparison when the rumored Mojo 2 comes out soon. I imagine they should be pretty close in price and compete for the same use case.

I have been waffling back and forth tbh. Its extremely tempting to me. It is even more so because it has a balanced analogue input. Only thing really holding me back is just that I need to sell some shit tbh. If it was more of in the $350 range instead of $500 I would have dont it already
