That’s interesting, a bit concerned about a company/guy entirely dedicated to digital plugins acquiring a company that was founded very against that in a sense, but hope it pans out well in the end lol. More Manley hifi would be cool
Yeah, my guess is that EveAnna Manley just wanted to retire.
I’m sure she was careful with selecting her successor. It’s her name on that company.
I’d love to see newer products as well. I haven’t heard any personally, but I know you like some of their stuff, and it’s a very respected brand.
They’ve always had a very specific sound, definitely not shooting for neutral lol, but it’s a unique and worthwhile one in the studio realm. I bet it will continue on fine, but it does make me wonder if their house character will live on as new products are introduced, or if it will change more over time. The specific mention for consumer hifi makes me wonder if that’s what they’re going to pivot toward more, a lot of prominent studio focused brands ended up moving to hifi in the end lol

Gadamn I’d love a peek under the lid of that Alpha US Reference, but I’ve got to say, pricing is getting insane. Six K, that’s double the cost of the previous series 2.
I didnt see anyone posting about this, sorry if someone did.
The continuation of the legendary mass kobo 394ii, now called model 485
Its $6000 already imported from japan, seems very very sweet tbh.
O.K., I’m curious.
Wow. That’s actually looks pretty sweet with the suspension headband.
I wonder what driver they’re using?
Looks like you can already order it for like $799. They market it to be similar in sound to the HE-6 when being driven by a powerful amp, but these are suppose to be easier to drive than the HE-6. Looking forward to any impressions on these if anybody get them.
30 years to make a decent looking headband
Just a prediction I dont think it will replace the he6 much less get to its properly amped holy grail sound but they call me a pessimist
I talked to someone at Hifiman and for the time being, that driver setup is going to remain HE600 only with all their newest driver and magnet tech. From what I understand, it’s a way more sensitive driver, but with higher excursion, so the magnets have to be further away negating a lot of the sensitivity gains, but still ends up with a huge net sensitivity boost. My faith is impossibly low in them, but I’ll probably have a set soon out of sheer curiosity.
probably won’t, just marketing words. The marketing words kinda work though since I seen a couple of people hype for them. There already some impressions on Reddit on these headphone on show conditions. I seen another impressions on headfi too on his DAP, but the impression seem similar.

Interesting.
definitely let us know what you think when you get ears on.
Thanks.
Reading an early review of the Edition XV that compares it to the old HEXv2. Has me interested in this one, especially with the redesigned headband.
Hex V2. was and still is a great headphone to me and I still have it. Good to see you still around!
Been on a bit of a break from the hobby but lurking and keeping tabs because I’m sure I’m going to hop back in at some point.
New Mojo Z, finally with a pcm chip.
It is a all new DAC for sure with considerable design changes from the X and Y lines, definitely hope this one is a banger for Ben.
