So, new body color, and the tuning is more like the p6 than the pro it seems
I feel like whatever it is, itās not going to be appealing to people who donāt like spiders, because now Iām only going to associate whatever it is with spiders lol
I hadnāt realized the OG P6 had a different tuning than the current P6 Pro if Iām honest. I wonder if this will be closer in tuning to the LP6 line as a consequence of that. I dont mind the current tuning but tbh a hair extra energy/sharpness in the bass would not be a bad thing imo
Yes, the og p6 was warmer, a bit more relaxed, and a slight bit wider but with less depth
Iām getting some mixed signals then. A couple of my friends more in the know of LP stuff (speaking Chinese kinda helps thereā¦) say its supose to be more energetic than the current P6 Pro. It seems like you (and that post) are saying the P6 was more lush and laid back?
My experience when I had the p6 before I traded it in for the pro was that way yes, I did not find the older p6 to be more energetic than the p6p personally
Some distinct standouts for the pro vs the regular p6:
- The regular p6 had longer decay and felt less quick in attack
- The pro had more depth but felt a bit smaller although that might be because of the overall more forward presentation
- The microdynamics of the p6 pro were superior with somewhat equal macro
- The p6 pro is a bit cleaner overall
- The pro had a blacker background
- Also noise floor less on the p6 pro with super sensitive iems but not really that different with more normal iems
- The p6 pro was slightly more forward than the normal p6
- Tonal density wise the normal p6 felt a bit more weighty but I think thatās more down to the slower transient responses
But thatās just my experiences with it, they arenāt radically different from each other signature wise, I feel like the technical upgrade it got was larger than any signature shift it had
No idea about the new one just to be clear, so that could sound different
Damn, now I canāt unsee this. lol
Rightā¦although I guess a lot have been waiting for an update. I remember the Mojo was pretty much my first "hi-endā budget at the time. Served me well.
I for one am very excited about this one. Mojo is awesome and such a classic. Hoping they made some thoughtful updates that will be worth the long wait for the successor. (Also hoping itās still around the same MSRP.)
Some updates Iām hoping for:
- True line out functionality to increase its capability as a standalone DAC.
- Longer lasting battery.
- Ability to run off USB power and bypass the battery.
- USB-C
I am definitely in the minority, but I personally didnāt like the Mojo sound. The sound came across as way too V shaped to my ears and I also thought it lacked forwards/backwards depth. The build was awesome though, albeit unique.
Violectric DHA V226 headphone amplifier, DAC, preamp
Violectric will present their latest headfphone amplifier with DAC and built-in preamp at the iEar Show. This new entry level headphone amplifier does not take any shortcuts with a whopping 3,5W (into 100 Ohm) of power available from the 4 builtin powerful amps. The basis of the D/A converter is from Cirrus, type CS43131 supports PCM signals up to 32 bits and 384 kHz sample rate as well as DSD up to 256. This DAC was also used in the populair V280 and V281 DAC, with an incredible dynamic range of 130 dB and THD as low as -115 dB.
Itās a cute lil guy. I wonder if there will be a version w/o DAC ? That Iāve not seen anything about.

Sadly the links no longer work, but the RS1x and RS2x were visible on Gradoās site earlier today. Hopefully this leak(?) means they are very close to releasing.
Apparently the RS1x will have 3 woods in the cup. Maple, Hemp, and Cocobolo. I sadly didnāt find out in time to see them, but they are supposedly lookers.
LETāS GOOOOO!
iFi is releasing a new version of the xDSD with 4.4mm:
EDIT: Seb says this is going to cost $600 and will be available some time in the next month.
I was honestly considering getting an xDSD a while back, so Iām excited about this one. Though now that Iāve settled into the W2 for portable listening, Iām not sure if it makes sense for my use case anymore.
Abyss announcing something next week
Hoping for closed back. I already messaged a couple dealers and will 1000% be getting a set of it is
EDIT: dont spread this about, but its diana TC not closed back unfortunately. Still pretty tempted though
Nice I assume itās the closed back but it could also be a new revision of one of their other models I suppose. Very doubtful itās the iem project lol
Iām impressed by how much I/O and buttons they could fit in on a small device. Feels a little bit unnecessary.
As a bit of a hiby fan this looks pretty interesting. I wonder how decent alot of these dongles are nowadays
