So, new body color, and the tuning is more like the p6 than the pro it seems

I feel like whatever it is, it’s not going to be appealing to people who don’t like spiders, because now I’m only going to associate whatever it is with spiders lol

I hadn’t realized the OG P6 had a different tuning than the current P6 Pro if I’m honest. I wonder if this will be closer in tuning to the LP6 line as a consequence of that. I dont mind the current tuning but tbh a hair extra energy/sharpness in the bass would not be a bad thing imo

Yes, the og p6 was warmer, a bit more relaxed, and a slight bit wider but with less depth

I’m getting some mixed signals then. A couple of my friends more in the know of LP stuff (speaking Chinese kinda helps there…) say its supose to be more energetic than the current P6 Pro. It seems like you (and that post) are saying the P6 was more lush and laid back?

My experience when I had the p6 before I traded it in for the pro was that way yes, I did not find the older p6 to be more energetic than the p6p personally

Some distinct standouts for the pro vs the regular p6:

  • The regular p6 had longer decay and felt less quick in attack
  • The pro had more depth but felt a bit smaller although that might be because of the overall more forward presentation
  • The microdynamics of the p6 pro were superior with somewhat equal macro
  • The p6 pro is a bit cleaner overall
  • The pro had a blacker background
  • Also noise floor less on the p6 pro with super sensitive iems but not really that different with more normal iems
  • The p6 pro was slightly more forward than the normal p6
  • Tonal density wise the normal p6 felt a bit more weighty but I think that’s more down to the slower transient responses

But that’s just my experiences with it, they aren’t radically different from each other signature wise, I feel like the technical upgrade it got was larger than any signature shift it had

No idea about the new one just to be clear, so that could sound different

Damn, now I can’t unsee this. lol

Right…although I guess a lot have been waiting for an update. I remember the Mojo was pretty much my first "hi-end’ budget at the time. Served me well.

I for one am very excited about this one. Mojo is awesome and such a classic. Hoping they made some thoughtful updates that will be worth the long wait for the successor. (Also hoping it’s still around the same MSRP.)

Some updates I’m hoping for:

  • True line out functionality to increase its capability as a standalone DAC.
  • Longer lasting battery.
  • Ability to run off USB power and bypass the battery.
  • USB-C

I am definitely in the minority, but I personally didn’t like the Mojo sound. The sound came across as way too V shaped to my ears and I also thought it lacked forwards/backwards depth. The build was awesome though, albeit unique.

It’s a cute lil guy. I wonder if there will be a version w/o DAC ? That I’ve not seen anything about.

Sadly the links no longer work, but the RS1x and RS2x were visible on Grado’s site earlier today. Hopefully this leak(?) means they are very close to releasing.

Apparently the RS1x will have 3 woods in the cup. Maple, Hemp, and Cocobolo. I sadly didn’t find out in time to see them, but they are supposedly lookers.

Here’s a pic for ya

iFi is releasing a new version of the xDSD with 4.4mm:

EDIT: Seb says this is going to cost $600 and will be available some time in the next month.

I was honestly considering getting an xDSD a while back, so I’m excited about this one. Though now that I’ve settled into the W2 for portable listening, I’m not sure if it makes sense for my use case anymore.

Nice I assume it’s the closed back but it could also be a new revision of one of their other models I suppose. Very doubtful it’s the iem project lol

I’m impressed by how much I/O and buttons they could fit in on a small device. Feels a little bit unnecessary.

As a bit of a hiby fan this looks pretty interesting. I wonder how decent alot of these dongles are nowadays
