That looks nicely finished. I had an older Bright Star platform with same inner tube concept.
Headphonesdotcom have the new Susvara Unveiled and Andrew (Resolve) posted the measurements.
It looks pretty good to me. Still a neutral-bright signature, but with what looks like a bit less ear gain (I know that charts donât compare to hearing the actual headphones, but they can paint a general sonic image).
Edit: These measurements are for the original Susvara, not the Susvara Unveilded. Iâm told those measurements are coming soon.
That is the og sus, not unveiled
Yeah, I just realized that.
Thank you.
I saw initial impressions from folks in China on the Unveiled. They didnât like the treble compared to the OG, but said itâs overall better for classical music. When asked about other types of music, it wasnât a positive review that it was a step-up from the OG.
Didnât know the person who posted to know how legit it was, nor what sort of music / system / etc they used.
Theyâre supposed to ship by the end of the month, and reviewers have them now, so we should be inundated with opinions shortly.
I always take show reviews with a bucket of salt, the environment is less than ideal for critical listening, and some of the source amp choices are at best interesting.
One of the dealers I stay in contact with has one on the way. I can pick his ears whenever he gets it, trustworthy ears imo. And his system is more than adequate. Although, Iâve been trying to get him on the yammy train. They will be the dark horse of the hp world⊠Someday
This looks quite nice for the intended audienceâŠ
This is not strictly HiFi related, but this is pretty dang cool I thinkâŠ
I was waiting to reply to you until there was some headway made on this headphone cable project. Just letting you know that Iâm getting quite a bit closer. Stay tuned! Maybe 4-6 weeks.
Johnny from Snake River on his upcoming HP cables.
For those that find the video TLDR, basically they specify that an amplifier power must be stated, and must maintain itâs stated power at <1% distortion between 20 and 20KHz into an 8 Ohm load, for at least 5 minutes, With specifics on how power can be advertised.
Which means a lot of the popular Chinese tube amps (and many other cheaper amps) would get a huge down grade in power because even when it isnât exaggerated, the transformers are undersized and as a result the bandwidth is compromised, and they often have often excessive Noise problems.
She thinks itâs a good thing, because itâs much closer to what most US manufacturers do anyway, and it levels the playing field. AFAICS sheâs just making it public to try and get the labelling actually enforced.
A very good TLDR.
would be interesting to see ifiâs numbers if they follow this.
Thanks for the summary
My wife and I bought a used Sony 27" TV when we got married and the grandkids still use it. That was in 1992 and it is still going and for what it was it is pretty damn good. I only buy Sony Tvâs simply due to how long they last.
Denafrips has ended itâs relationship with Vinshine audio so Vinshine will longer be selling Denafrips products on their site. Alvin recommends purchasing through Denafrips directly from now on. Vinshine will still provide support for customers who bought a Denafrips product through them, but if the product needs hardware repair Vinshine will get you in contact with a Denafrips representative to get your product fixed.
A while ago I posted a review here of my first experiences w/ the QSA-Lanedri cables.
Without lending it to other members here, itâs hard to make heads/tails of anyoneâs (e.g. mine) opinion of a cable given the subjectiveness⊠and their secretive âtechnologyâ (if you call it that) and extreme prices are quite a turn-off to most reasonable folks.
Anyway, I guess Alpha Labs just tested them, and hereâs what they found:
