That’s pretty unusual in a coke bottlr shape, 6l6 maybe?

From the last post

“The short story is that it sounds like a more resolving Starlett with more power (people with experience with DNA stuff know that the Starlett/Stratus/Stellaris do sound meaningfully different from one another). I have interest in acquiring one for myself if the price is right. Fabulous amp, uses a 5U4G rectifier, KT66 output, and 6CG7 input, so not expensive, exotic, hard-to-find tubes.”

Is that an ETA prototype? I had one on loan for a week or so but it was like a hard to drive o2 that was still on ear. That one looks full size.
Edit: saw the SBAF thread you linked so am reading through that to get some more info

Sorry, was slammed this morning at work. I’m not sure which model it is, hopefully that thread has more details. I know they started with an over the ear a few years ago, at least they were prototyping one which looks similar. Been a while since I saw one, enjoyed the over ear prototype for their price range. On-ear is great too, not the fit I prefer.

Tubes look small for a KT66 but maybe just everything else is big. Hmm i guess they are bigger than the tranny. Also it depends on the KT66. The good ones will be a few hundred $ per matched pair.

It will be interesting if it will accept others in that family and not strictly kt66s.

Yeah, have no idea. Just forwarding what was posted.

One hell of a tube array…

Tube Compliment (15 Valves in Total):
1 x EC86, 1 x EZ80 (Digital Input),
1 x 6V6, 1 x EZ80 (DEM Osciallator),
1 x 5Y3, 2 x EZ81 (DAC Section),
2 x EZ81 (Active I/V B+),
2 x 6J5 (Input Gain Stage),
2 x 45 (Analogue Output Stage),
2 x 5U4GB (Output Stage B+),

X is brand new afaik but was in development for a while

Is that for the standard or the special or signature lol? I’d assume the x signature would be quite a lot more if they’re using all silver transformers

Standard entry price :see_no_evil:

Figured lol, would expect that to double for the signature lol (at least comparing to like how audio note prices work)

End of an era.

I doubt Harmon will make very many changes in the near term. But there has to be a strategy to grow revenue with this acquisition. Did they want the metadata database to improve other products? Maybe the engineering team? Roon as it exists today services such a small total market I can’t imagine direct revenue growth of the Roon product as it is today will work for them. Maybe they want to steer it towards a more non-audiophile market?

It’ll be interesting what news about this leaks out…
