Ok, round two since round one was so insanely helpful. Anyone got a Rockna connect? Love my Wavedream Signature Balanced, but if a Reference would come my way, I wouldn’t turn it down

This is more difficult because only certified dealers have access to them, and they tend not to deviate much from the retail price.
There are exceptions where you can negotiate a bit, but in the end, it’s a matter of luck.
Or you might come across a used unit one day where the price is right.
Very few people sell Rockna devices; it’s similar to the Holo Spring 3 or May Dac, which you rarely see for sale.

Yeah, I feel like even if I got a Reference, I’d keep my Sig Bal around on another setup lol. I’d feel so bad about getting rid of it…especially since I robbed it at gunpoint to begin with.

Fire him an email, he’ll give you a quote.
People who have worked with dealers aren’t likely to respond publicly, while dealers commonly discount items, and it’s common knowledge. Manufacturers frown on dealers doing it publicly because it can undermine other distributors pricing.
So you have this game of it’s OK as long it isn’t in their face.
It’s the same reason someone like a Hifiman, or for that matter an Abyss will sell at MSRP on their website, even though the markup they have on the item is probably at least twice what the dealer has to play with. If they undercut their distributors, they’d have no distributors.
