Help with small powered speakers for a desk

Welcome to the hell of buying anything in Canada. Want a PS5 be prepared to pay a scalper 1500-4000 dollars for one

That also holds true for the US too though

Looks like someone beat me to the used YU2’s. I asked about shipping cost but apparently a sale was already pending. I guess I might have to wait for Black Friday to see if any of people’s suggestions go on sale. Feel free to continue to post suggestions as I always like to have options as sometimes options are limited here in Canada.

I have YU2’s. They sound good to me, but I have them paired with a sub.

Are you sure about that? I paid $568.00Cdn tax-in), two years ago. And they are very impressive: Amp/DAC built-in, bluetooth, remote control, etc. And they take very little desktop space.

I went to check and Amazon.ca doesn’t carry them anymore. The price you saw was from Best Buy in the US. Might be worth checking out www.vanatoo.com. They are $359.00US

I must admit I only looked at amazon.ca. Return policy is easy to do with amazon.

I really enjoy them and they will be at my desk forever unless they break. I bought a couple of yoga blocks and they sound perfect. And SO much smaller than most desktop speakers.

Vanatoo has a 30 day trial policy, but you would have to pay to send them back.

Sorry, way late to the party here, been a while since I’ve logged in. Yes, I have the YU2’s and I’m happy with them, although I am way less picky with desk speakers than I am my headphones - happy to answer any questions. I’m running them from the Bifrost 2 → Jot 2 → YU2’s.

I have the Edifier e25 Luna Eclipse in my bedroom. They’re very compact, and super good looking. If you watch any of Josh Valour’s reviews, he often uses one of them as a headphone stand or background prop in his glamour sequences. Sound? They’re my first and only powered speakers that aren’t Logitech or knock-off grade external computer speakers, so I can’t compare them to others in their class. When I first got them, I complained about the overwhelming bass that swallowed the rest of the music. I think this is probably because of where I set them up - 4 ft above my head on the top shelf of an open closet. On a desk in front of you, they should sound great - a lot better than built-in laptop speakers, for sure.

(Mine are black, but a lot of folks like the red.)

We just bought the Kanto YU2 for a small desk, and they will arrive in about a week. We bought them for a secondary desk that doesnt have a lot of room, which will also have a 32" monitor, keyboard, mouse, audio interface, midi keyboard on it. Space was a concern so we couldn’t go with some larger Klipsch or Edifier powered bookshelf, and the YU2 is the perfect size to fit along side the monster 32" BenQ 4k screen without pushing something off the desk.

Will update in a week or so with listening experience and photos.
