You all guys think this is a 3d printed copy of GS3000e, and where do they get the drivers
For $280 built thats really tempting
But should I be more responsible and pay for a used pair, it would be like $800 
I got interested in all these after I bought my Hemps and found out the following:
There are a few DIY Grado clone projects floating around. Some of them higher quality than others. Essentially they find drivers as similar in spec to Grado’s or the same and build similar headphones around them. I think reverse engineered is probably a more accurate characterisation. Some people create very different cups in order to tune to their own preference and there is a whole cottage industry around it. A couple of web shops source and sell the two drivers considered “best” for these but other people just buy cheap equivalents from places like Ali Express.
The ones you are looking at are a bit different as they say they are selling a kit consisting of genuine Grado parts. No one is sure how they get them but they haven’t been stopped from trading. Comments on a Reddit AMA suggest they know where manufacturers are sourcing parts and then buy factory clones.
Generally they seem to be poor at customer service and the feedback I have read is all over the place from great to terrible so definitely look into it before deciding

If you are going to build your own or buy bits and pieces use these fellows. I have products from both and i am extremely pleased w/ the quality, craftsmanship and sound. Be patient, everything is made by hand and it may take afew weeks to receive delivery. Be very careful and precise when they ask for measurements so the product fits what you have. Take pictures and include them in your emails.
I very much enjoy my Grados and the one clone i own. They are not for everyone but there are musical genre’s that these are simply made for.
