I’m pretty sure I have some RCA splitters floating around, I’ll give that a try and report back!
@M0N Just using an RCA splitter seems to be exactly what I needed. I had to steal the splitter from behind my main PVM setup to test it out, so I’ll still need to order myself another set of RCA splitters, but yeah, this seems to work great, Thank you for the sanity check, I really appreciate it!
Hello,
I think I’ve found something.
Again, a little older but usable, probably better than the Cambridge Audio Dacmagic100.
There were not so many reports about it but you could read that it could annoy the big ones a bit at that time.
I still had points at Shenzenaudio that I redeemed for it and was able to get another $35 discount on it.
Might even work very well with the Little Dot 1+.
It was pure coincidence that I found it.
Thanks to all who helped the other day.
By the way, it turned out to be the Little Dot Dac 1.
Reminds me a bit of the old school times from the 90s.
I see you found a solution via splitters but be forewarned for future use that Exogal is very sensitive to anything extra you put in the chain and will Pick-up and amplify any noise or difference you introduce. I had an instance where I was hearing the clicking sounds out of my computer hardrive once and another where an inexpensive splitter was allowing bleed from an adjoining connection. It is extremely sensitive and despite Jeff’s assurances that cables and such don’t make a difference on his products i find that changes to the chain w/ that DAC in particular assuredly do make a difference.
Anyone familiar with the Auris HA-2SF? Looks pretty cool… love the vintage aesthetic with wood and VU meters
I’ve heard the SE but not the SF, apparently the SF is a cleaner more neutral tuning where the SE is a bit warmer softer rich leaning. Personally on the SE I felt technically it wasn’t up to snuff for the money, but was still enjoyable with the right headphone, apparently the SF fixes some of that so perhaps it could be worth consideration
Both people i know that own one absaouteky love it. That saud, I am completely unsure of what all else tube wise they have owned long term in thats price range. Assuming you are looking at the one on headfi? Looks like a fairly competitive price if so
Yeah, that’s what spurred the question, anyway. Not sure that’s really a direction I want to head ATM, though
Any general input on the PS Audio direct stream? I never realy paid attention to their stuff because I just always assumed it was like bartok pricing, not regulalry well well sub 5k used
How might a Questyle CMA Twelve stack up against a 1321/V200 stack? It’s a shame you can’t feed the Twelve with a separate DAC, but otherwise seems pretty cool and versatile as an all in one.
I’m personally not a fan but it’s more kinda due to the voicing. They are a very smooth and laid back dac, basically to a fault imo. They lack macro performance and engagement factor, they are reasonably technical but everything seems too chilled out and soft to me. Also they run pretty low level outs which sometimes can leave you lacking gain depending on your amp
Pretty well, the twelve might be a slight bit better depending on the headphones imo. I think the twelve master is a reasonable step above that
tyvm for the input. Seems like not what I really want from a dac basicaly at all…
anyone have input on leben CS600 for sus? Found some old reviews that drool all over this pairing (and some very old ones that drool over it an he-6 og) but wasnt sure how it held up. Only really interested because they seem to be ~2500 used and are a tube amp that hides the tubed tbh. Also, I cant find any info at all on 600f vs 600cx vs 600cs, etc. Any idea whats up here?
EDIT: Leben CS600, not 300. sorry about that. Still currious bout seeing as its around the cost of a 23r less interested than when I thought it was $2500
Primarily LCD-24, I suppose. Basically, though, it’d only make sense if it were a meaningful improvement over the 1321/V200 and P6P/C9.
Edit: not V281
Hmmm, I’d honestly hold of if you enjoy what you have
Having seen both pop up today and relatively similar pricepoint, how might the Pass HPA-1 compare to the Audeze King Mk2 with LCD-24 and potential Sus in the future? I know the Pass is highly regarded and they may be totally different animals, but the King doesn’t have much out there that I’ve found to have much basis for comparison.
Anyone have any experience with Naim’s Burr-Brown DACs?
Namely PCM1791A and PCM1792A Burr-Brown chips?
I just heard a mogwai OG and was pretty blown away if I am honest. What is going to have a similar voicing (or can be rolled fo have a similar voicing) bjt at a higher technical level? Anything sufficient for sus sub 5k used?
You could likely go for the higher end ampsandsound like a bigger ben or the new nautilus. I know someone who enjoys the bigger ben + susvara combo. Safe bet if you like the mogwai, given the bigger ben is basically based off the mogwai and a further improved upon it
I’ve always kinda heard that AS is a bit too much on the price for the SQ. Mind if I ask if the “similar voicing” or the “runs sus” requirement is the limiting factor?
