Anyone hear a Parasound Halo P6 before? Was wondering about it’s DAC performance…

Is that one of their integrateds? Seems like I recall it being spoken of pretty favorably, but no experience with it myself. My only Parasound was the zAmp v3.
It’s the DAC/preamp. Same thing is found in the Hint 6 (allegedly) and I was looking at the latter but wanted to see if it would be better to just get the A23+ and a different DAC/pre.

I used to have the P6. It was a good preamp, but the DAC wasn’t great. You can use it in a jam and out of convenience, but most separate mid-tier DACs will outperform it. I was comparing it with a BF2 at the time. I liked the preamp for its flexibility though. It seemed like it could do everything, had lots of features, and was very convenient.

Damn, that story is a little sad. You would think over 2 years that there would be a work around or product rework but i guess not everything works out like that.

Word. Just finished watching the video. Incredibly sad! Also a reminded that just because people sell extremely expensive high end items it dosent mean that they necessarily have a high profit margin!

So I found a used Bakoon HPA-01M at a nice price, could it be a possible upgrade from my Feliks Echo? Currently using the Feliks with an Ares II, headphones are HD800S. I know that the Bakoon is a portable unit and was wondering if any of you know how it performs against other desktop amps.

Idk about a technical upgrade but subjectively i quite heavily prefer it to the felix i heard for hd800s. If you found it in the $600 range imo its a very solid option just due to the massive change in tonality and staging
