Awesome, thank you!
Not too sure if this is the right place but asking for some help, Wanting to try out some more IEM tips but so far the only ones that fit and work well at all have been the Spin Fits CP145 S, these fit amazingly are comfortable and sound fab. With others ive found they just dont go in far enough or just don’t seal at all.
If any more info is needed let me know but basically they are what I use with my Moondrop starfields and most recently (today) tried them in my Moondrop sparks and instanly they were the ones again.
Cheers
My go-to is Final e-tip for fit and seal, but I use ePro horn tips on my Infinity Mk2. I also like the Spin Fit CP240 (double flange) and CP360 (TWS), but they don’t work well with a lot of IEMs I’ve tried them with. I’d say in general, err on the side of small to allow for a deeper seat. That’s worked better for me than using larger sizes and not being able to get the IEM to seat far enough into the ear canal and constantly having the IEMs falling out.
Feels like generally double and triple flange rips might be worth looking into. Feels like those will have great insertion ability.
my go to tips are Final E-Tip and Spiral Dot. Both seal well, and you can get a small size to insert them deeper. but they aren’t “deep tips” exactly. pretty standard size. just good quality silicon, good opening sizes, and comfortable.
My favorite tips are between symbio w peels and azla sedna earfit lights. I also like spiral dots and final type e at times but find that the final can blunt the highs a little more than I would like with some sets.
Seconding the double/triple-flange tips, more specifically the double-flange. I haven’t tried any of the Spinfit tips, but I use my large qdc double-flange tips with my Moondrop Variations.
When possible, I prefer a seal about mid-way through the ear canal vs just around the entrance. My definition is somewhere between sticking large standard tips and ety’s triple-flange horrors.
What is everyone’s favorite way to clean and maintain a good IEM?
I used to have a jodivac that i used every month. Worthwhile investment if you have multiple iems
Nice. Just looked that up and it looks like something I might grab at some point.
Do you prefer anything for everyday / every few days use? What I mean is, in between vacc’ing the IEM, do you have a favorite small tool for quickly removing any earwax from the tip or the outer bore? Right now I’m using tweezers and a tiny flathead screwdriver to remove it, but I feel like there might be something better. I did some searching last night and mostly found these large kits that are $100s, and I couldn’t find simpler cleaning tools.
Hey all!
Since all my gear is packed and shipping cross country for the next few weeks and I have a bit of travel planned, thought I’d find a portable system I can be happy with and use with my MacBook, iPhone, iPad and maybe convince me I need a DAP?
I haven’t used IEMs in years so really don’t know where to start.
Sound signature wise I’d love something similar to my Susvara with maybe more low end emphasis.
Budget I guess is around $1500 for entire buy - IEMs, cables, DAP or portable DAC/AMP.
Saw some recommendations about the U6T? But I’m open to everything.
Thanks!
Mojo2 + mest mk2 is a solid combo
Well fwiw I’m a big ie900 fan but they might be too picky for what your use case is.
Sony m9 is a lot more forgiving that I wouldn’t mind using a phone with. But the timbre might be a problem given you wanted a sus-like iem.
64audio stuff I hear is fairly forgiving as well.
The mest 2 as eskamo mentioned I think dropped in price to $999. So could be a good option there.
Other than that I stopped looking after the ie900 so hopefully there was something semi-useful in there. Lol
yeah honestly with that budget i don’t think you can do wrong with a Mest mkii and drop the rest into a dap, maybe might be worth waiting for the Hiby RS2 that is coming at the end of the month.
Where did you see it for $999? On their website it’s $1799…
It was 999. Towa linked a “like new” one that is 999, but i think around a week ago for a short amount of time it was 999. I to this day regret not buying one lol.
That was a one time thing? Thought it was permanent tbh
Lol buying a new one for 50% higher will be such a let down if it comes to that now. Trying to figure out what I feel about second hand IEMs, audiophiles keep their gear in good shape, doesn’t guarantee anything about their ears though
For sure lol. IEM’s are something that’s harder to consider used. Now then the like new MEST that from musicteck should be fine as it was returned within 15 days with all the things and inspected. So I wouldn’t worry about that one.
haha, suuuper worth btw. The Mest II in particular because it seemingly fixed all the problems I had with the 1st one, smoother treble and seemingly better fit. And the Mest sounded absolutely incredible!
