Welcome to the forum Marten. No idea on the PS repair but many of these things work on 12v. Meaning if you simply get an external PS with the right voltage you can wire them directly into the power connector on the board of the streamer. With a quality external power supply, you can often greatly improve the sound quality.
Some of this is in German but it looks like it may help you. So at least one company makes an upgraded PS.
The guide you linked has the PSU-Outputs labeled as 15V and dual 5V.
Could be as simple as swapping the factory board for a dual-rail SMPS (Traco TPP40-231-ND could work).
Looking at photos online, I am unsure what they are using internally. Some photos show just a cover, others have two transformers visible.
Are you referring to the hoer-wege PS? If so, I posted some stuff about it on the auralic thread… now a dead company
