Checked my Radiance and they were fine. They actually looked like new underneath the pads. Very clean.
idk but after this experience I will definitely be checking my pads every few months from now on
Thankfully my Radiance are fine. Zero sign of goop. So who knows what’s causing it. I agree though. Once I get the replacement Utopia pads in, I’m definitely going to be checking them every couple of months.
Is the issue with the goopy pads related to the first production batch of the material used?
As far as I know, no. It happened to me with relatively newer pads, whether it was sold to me as old new stock tho? Possibly, but there has also been other reports of newer sold pads doing it as well. I think Focal said that they stopped using the material that was causing it in their newer runs, so maybe. I would just recommend regardless to check every month or so to see, if it is starting. If yoi catch it early enough it is a non issue just a little annoying, the problem is when they are left for months at a time and they really start to melt. Which is what happened to me
I’m still really impressed with focal naim of America’s customer service on the matter though, very accommodating
