This thread is absolutely fascinating and trying to follow along as you smart, experienced technically proficient and well educated types quibble over fine details makes me giggle. (I work w/ DOE engineers and i have followed along many times as they argue for hours over the most minuscule technical details :exploding_head:) Honestly nothing more entertaining than watching engineers argue on a long otherwise boring all night stint in the middle of nowhere…:rofl::rofl::rofl:

I have to read your words over, several times, and real S L O O O W W W, like a damned first grader but nothing better than giving a guy who doesn’t know any better, (because the details are lost on him), ideas on how to experiment w/ this new found knowledge :crazy_face: :rofl: :crazy_face:

@dB_Cooper , if i have another heart attack moving a bunch of heavy equipment up and down my damned stairs, just so i can figure out if i can actually hear the difference in a bunch of bits and packets and whatnot, just so you can make another fancy gadget @Andy77 gets first dibs on my nice stuff because i’m blaming you for it :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

I certainly didn’t want to make trouble with this post. I should probably have put a big disclaimer on the top of this thread - “I’m 100% certain this post isn’t perfectly accurate, I’m trying to think through a complex topic at a useful level of abstraction. And I think this podcast brings up useful ideas”. The mistake I made was posting this with a tone of certainty in my writing. I’m not an expert in this area, just another audio nerd having fun and trying to find his way through. I appreciate that we can have these sorts of discussions, and I hope we can assume positive intent in all of it.

Also, if my analog(ue) joke wasn’t funny, I apologize for it. I’m in France this week, with a British analog design engineer, and he reminds me regularly of how to spell it. That humor may have wrongly poured over into this thread. I meant no disrespect to you.

Ok… enough of that. Back to listening to music :headphones::notes::man_singer:
