I traded my ZMF Atrium Closed Olivewood for the DCA Stealth. So far on the DCA Stealth, comfort is a big A+ for me. I really like it so far, but let’s see in 3 months with long usage. Clarity, details, and imaging sounds pretty next level to me coming from the Atrium Closed. Soundstage depth is amazing on the Stealth, but idk how it compare to the Atrium Closed without A/Bing it. The DCA Stealth sounds pretty close to the E3 from memory. Both headphones really like making vocals the main star of the music at least on my amp. But music doesn’t sound like it’s in the background on the Stealth compare to the E3 where I felt vocals were more forward. It sounds more balance on the Stealth on music and vocals, yet for some reason, vocals cut through the music more on my setup. But I like it because vocals to me sound really good on the DCA Stealth. Not as transparent as the Mysphere 3.2, but the DCA Stealth is really clear and smooth to my ears. But also of how much vocals stand out on the DCA Stealth, you can really hear and understand what the vocalist is saying very clearly and the Stealth provide so much detail of the vocalist pronunciation. Details of vocals is really amazing so far.

I think anyone that said the DCA Stealth have really good impact from the other forums, I don’t think they’re right so far… Macro-dynamics exist, but that’s about it. Coming from the Atrium Closed which to me is one of the best dynamics I ever heard, it’s a pretty noticeable downgrade on the Stealth. What’s pretty weird is the DCA Stealth got really good subbass. Hearing subbass and getting some subbass visceral impact without some big macro-dynamics is kinda weird lol. Listening to some EDM tracks like CloZee Microworlds, Childhood, and Anteres is really good. But listening to classical orchestra like Berlioz: Symphonie Fantastique Movement 4 Marche Au Supplice, around 5 minute mark is where it get pretty disappointing because of the lack of impact on the timpani. In fact, it might be the most disappointing I ever heard that piece because that’s my favorite part lol. Everything else sounded really good, especially strings. But then, I switch to Hok-man Yim Poem of Chinese Drums where this is a percussion only piece of just the Chinese drum. I turn the volume really high and what do you know, I got hard hitting impact! The impact at this volume is really amazing, but I had to put this in pretty much deafening volume which is unlistenable in most other tracks at this volume.

Volume I did for Poem Of Chinese Drum to get the impact I wanted.

Volume of what it actual looks like for other tracks:

My Supratek preamp is always about 50% whenever I use my headphone amp.

I got curious and put on Red Hot Chili Peppers Give It Away to hear what the drums would sound like on the DCA Stealth. The drums is my favorite sound in that song…:man_shrugging:

While my memory of the Atrium Closed is still fresh, the DCA Stealth at least on this 1st impression is a more technical headphone as far as resolution (minimum distortion), clarity, and it provides a lot of details. But the ZMF Atrium Closed to me feels like a better all rounder for a closed back while the DCA Stealth seems more of a specialist to me. It’s because the Atrium Closed besides its amazing dynamics, honestly does everything pretty well. I don’t think there is a glaring weakness to the Atrium Closed (at least the one I modded: Solid Mesh plate mod and Bokeh Suede pad) compare to the DCA Stealth glaring weakness. But the strengths that the DCA Stealth excel is really amazing that I don’t really get with any other headphone at least from memory (yes, I really like how vocals are presented on the DCA Stealth. I really am curious how the DCA Stealth sound if I’m using 45 tubes ). I will say in exchange going from the Atrium Closed to the DCA Stealth, this is smoother experience. The DCA Stealth is much easier to listen to and you’ll melt into the music. Combine it with its high quality comfort, this is a really nice headphone to just sit back and listen to for hours which was my goal with this headphone.

People say that the DCA Stealth change for the better with burn in. I don’t know how many hours this DCA Stealth actually have, but I’m still looking forward in spending more time with this headphone.
