Making a new thread as I think this is significant enough to not just be shoehorned into the industry news thread.

Here is a quick video (like the guy or not) that is a good outline of the situation:

I know I am not alone im really loving bandcamp, tbh I never really knew they had articles or anything of that sort but now I am even more interested. It helped propel my friends bands and even when buying from their record label’s sight I still repurchase it from bandcamp. It has let me grab some music that video game composers only really have there (and circumvents something like Steam only maybe having a flac file). And to be honest ive liked their preloaded tags the best and it’s usually an easy download without the pushiness of a helper app.

I dont even want to mention the immediate layoffs and anti-union stuff.

Same here. Awesome site to get less-than-common stuff and finding new artists.

Tme to make sure all the stuff you’ve ever purchased from Bandcamp is safely stored on a drive or two of yours.

Besides new artists they have A LOT of remixes that are simply not available elsewhere.

Not sure how many of these will be left so I am buying what I can today.

Bandcamp is also amazing for video game soundtracks and their composers!
