@M.J
I asked Arthur last year:

“The v324 is coming next year. This is based on the v222 with more power and added features. It will use surface mount components like the other models which creates a more neutral sound signature. Still with a little bit of warmth like the v222. Both these models are taken from the original v281 circuit design but the v281 uses all discreet hole through components which creates a more analog and warmer sound signature. So I would place the v324 somewhere between the v222 and the v281.”

This is the first 7 (8?) figure system ive heard and understood why. Also, I have renewed my itch for ares cerat

As for cheaper stuff, I actually really enjoy “indiana line - utah 8” and “argon audio a5” w/ their new wireless sub.

If you have the chance, something absolutely insane I’ve heard is the Chronos Audio Optimizer from Nirvana Audio. Black magic stuff.

Lovely! :face_savoring_food::drooling_face:

Did you buy their show units? Lol

I just looked it up… That initially seems like a whole lot of hoopla! Lol

How did they demo it?

Asians love those esoteric-hifi stuff :grinning_face:

It’s a USB stick connected to a box you keep in your room with your hifi setup, they would play about one or two minutes of a track, then bring the box out of the room and play the same track again. The difference was…immediate, blacker background and better dynamics and a more precise sound where the things that most stood out. Today I’ll be going to them again for some more tests.

Correction: it’s just an USB stick that you…put in the room. The box connected to it that I saw is a power bank. The guys there said that “with a power supply it improves the performance” but it also works just…passively. I really am at a loss as to what could cause an improvement in the system’s performance, let alone one this much evident.

Wait, really? I didnt think they sold to the US. The utah-8 was really really good. Way to big for my space but made me quite currious about yheir narrower towers

Yup! First speaker show ive been to that was more good setups than bad ones. Has been kind of elightening for what speakers are capable of tbh

I dont think united will let me bring them in my carry on unfortunately

I have a really old line of theirs that came with me to the US, don’t think I’ve ever seen any here. All of their speakers I heard punch way above their weight and price would suggest

10" tall speakers that are unironicly kinda good. The lady said the horn is real, but it has a screw head in the middle so…

Edit: jesus fuck. These things are €4,800. I thought they were 480…

And the new felix enegizer is actualy good. It sounded fucked thursday but turns out it was getting lkke 6v in over rca and was distoring hard. Turned down the source and it seems propper. Id obviously need mlre time with it with a real dac to day how it stacks up overall, but given i think the envy is straight trash, I think this is promising

Came home yesterday and yes I managed to get some time with them. I wasn’t a fan of the closed backs, they have an even brighter and more “shriller” sound signatrue than the YH-5000, as well as somewhat thin on sound, with “tinny highs and a slightly unnatural timbre” at least that’s what I wrote on my notes. I also noted that performance seemed to vary much more than with the YH-4000 with different tracks, where more well recored acoustic stuff sounded much nicera and coherent than most metal tracks I tested them with.

The YH-4000 takes on a different approach than the 5000s in terms of sound signature: best way I can describe them is that they are the warm counterpart to the 5000s with less detail. More intimate, denser warmer sound with a pretty good timbre, although I tried a couple of tracks of electronic music with wich I thought it would perform pretty well in the bass department but I felt like it wasn’t all that satysfing, not deep nor punchy enough, it’s really more of a mid-bass warmth I guess.

I remembered about this last minute so I didn’t get a whole lot of time with them and the headphones used were unkown to me: It’s called Sierra and it’s from Auribus Acoustics.
Either way, I thought the setup was very very coherent for the price point, the headphones are IMO extremely well tuned and the V324 + some dac/streamer I don’t remember the brand of was one the best headphone setup I’ve heard at Hi-Fi events apart from something like an AIC-10/Viva Egoista 845 with Susvaras or the new Mastersound headphone amp with Utopias, but I had more fun with it than the time I heard the Final D8000 Pros with a Copland dac/amp.

So I’m going to guess that the V324 is very good as well to make the setup sound this good overall. If the headphones are tuned to pretty neutral I would say that the V324 might be a warmer kind of amp but still plenty tight and punchy.

Also heres a photodump of some of the more memorable setups I’ve heard, I will talk more about some of these once I write an articole about my days in Munich.

Yo! Thank you so much for remembering :folded_hands:

Closed back more picky than yh4k? Interesting :thinking:

I’m looking forward to getting them on hand whenever they release.

This is good to know, I wonder how much of that is the new hybrid pads.

I assume they haven’t teased pricing on either hps? And did they have any specs listed? I’m quite curious what the sensitivity of the closed back is.

I’m interested what you say about this setup, because I know this Austrian distributor. He is selling not so well-known Japanese/Taiwainese gear. I baught the EAhibrid EAL-1000 from him (better than muon2 Pro from Network Acoustics).. speakers must be from Lu Kang Audio…
