Artists Protesting Spotify

I have my own grudges with spotify with a personal one being theft of my payment despite multiple cancelations.

Like most streaming services they pay too little. Unlike most, their CEO also heavily invests in kill bots abd is chairman or said kill bot company.

CEOs being the shittiest scum is nothing new but I am happy to see artists actively pulling their music off. Even if statistically individually it probably hurts the artist more than affecting

So far the big artists i know of are xiu xiu, deer hoof, leah senior, and it seems King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard may have just pulled theirs.

There’s also the AI bullshit band The Velvet Sundown that’s heavily promoted on Spotify. Not that it compares in any way whatsoever to efficiently destroying humans but Spotify is generally a super shitty company.

AI kills humans in many ways, mostly by stealing vital resources and spitting out slop and harm.

Tbh the conversion rate made it only $6 or so bucks USD but name your price is great for those just trying to fill the backlog. And dont forget they have their official bootlegs of live shows all name your price.

I’m also seeing more and more artists allowing you to download their entire discography of ten or 15 albums for $30. So if you’ve got someone you like and you’ve got a couple of their albums already this is the best way to support them outside of going to one of their concerts.
