Abyss headphone thread, Diana / 1266

$ure do lol.

It is wild a cable, just like what came with the V2 is $550. So in that case this headphone was $1200. Steal!

That is wild for an aluminum alloy.

Thanks for sharing. Makes me curious to try perhaps the Diana TC. I liked the 1266 quite a lot but it wasn’t comfortable enough and it was more of a niche listening for me that didnt justify the cost of ownership.

V2 sale is over. That was fairly quick!

FYI, based on a gentleman from headfi you can run the 1266 off the MZ3. So anyone here with a 1266 or MZ3 you can pick up the other without fear.

I would be a little doubtful of this fwiw

I don’t think it sounds bad pairing wise, but there’s def other options I’d rather get at that price point for that headphone personally tbh. I do think that while it does sound a bit underdriven it really is nice spatially and helps to correct some of the weird midrange, still great dynamics as well specifically micro, I just think it lacks some of it’s characteristic slam and also a bit more forward than I personally prefer pairing wise. Thought it handed the diana without issue, but I think it was just lacking the last ounce of juice for the 1266

Yeah I was thinking it would want more juice for sure. Kinda like the Susvara didn’t work IMO. Gets loud but weak sounding.

I use the mojo2 with the V2 and find it’s fine. So I can definitely see the mz3 being ok for it.

Yeah susvara was a no go, the 1266 doesn’t struggle that hard in comparison, like I could see how someone would like the abyss + mz3 pairup, but I don’t know if I could really see someone enjoying the susvara + mz3 lol

That’s interesting it worked as well as it did. Just figured it would want more. That one watt is mighty.

It’s actually more that the 1266 is less picky then you’d think, there are actually good pairings with modest power amps, whereas I think the susvara is a lot more demanding of a headphone to pair in comparison

Be awesome if they could figure out a V2 and TC hybrid in the Diana frame. I know the DTC is a thing but it doesn’t seem like it worked. Tho I don’t have too many complaints about the V2 so…

Why so?

From what I’ve heard the DTC wasn’t that great. Especially for the price. Even some here said it was thin.

Could be in the minority here but I find the Diana V2 to be really solid for gaming lol. They’re light and the imaging is so good you can pin point where people are coming from. And a bonus is they sound great. Gun fire and explosions have a really nice weight. I primarily play shooters like battlefield and lately Fortnite because my son is into it so we play together.
This is typically off the Bliss.

Abyss currently is having a warehouse sale where they are selling “old” (but still brand new) Diana V2s at a considerable discount.

I have been saving for a new purchase and figured I wouldn’t see a better deal than that so I took a chance and they’re here today!

Only been listening for a little while now but I am super impressed; could give an update/review later if anyone is interested.

Awesome you were able to snag one, the discounts they had on them make them a really good deal, will be curious on your thoughts later :+1:
