Check! Rock’n opticalRendu and an ultraRendu. I would score this one solidly “meets expectations”. I’m really digg’n the sonic quality with these. And very easy to use, along with flexibility for multiple protocols.
Check! Went with the OG Utopia. And as a bonus added a Danecable to go with it. This one has firmly centered itself in my collection. Adding the Danecable has been . I’ll score this one “exceeds expectations” for my mid year review.
I’ve not really added very many new artists to my library. But I did pivot slightly from all streaming to starting to purchase my favorite albums. I have ~50 purchased albums now. I’m enjoying the purchased music more than I thought, something about owning vs renting they music. It feels more committed. I’ll score this one “expect more”. I need to step up my musical exploration in second half 2023.
I jumped into this one with both feet. Sold off the entire desktop setup and switched to having just a Chord2Go setup on my desk. It doubles as my transportable listening rig around my house. Very happy with this, definitely “exceeds expectations”.
Overall I’m happy with meeting equipment goals. And I need to focus more on music goals for second half of the year.

After suffering through a couple of major WX events inside a span of 3 weeks recently that impacted not only my neighborhood & immediate community but a majority of the surrounding area as well. I am just happy to still have some gear and a place to use it, even if in some dis-repair, and being able to listen to music when I can. I have a new found appreciation for streaming services that can be rendered via cellular networks when physical land line connections are inoperable, and also for a couple of inexpensive $100 sets of iems & a little qudelix 5K…
So my goals, if I listed any previously, have now changed to a simpler focus of - Just enjoy music and the escape it offers, no matter how that manifests for you individually.
This is my current wishlist, 2023 would be pretty much completed but I think ill be finishing by next year

I will feel extremely complete and satisfied after finishing my second, harder, audio wishlist that I made. For sure, the first one was done with some of my first legit salary as an adult and now I have more expenses and also want a bike lol
It depends on the price difference, but definitely SX. It’ll be a noticeable improvement. SE is a great sweet spot, but your setup will certainly appreciate the improvement of the SX.

Landed a very nice paying job, I’ve been missing audio all of 2023. But financially, spiritually I will finally be ready to come back hard lol. Although I will now stick within the under 2k price range for individual components and not go on rampage as before lol.

Gonna really focus more on music this year gonna focus more in collecting records and finally get myself a record player. I’ve kinda just reached zen mode when it comes to gear no desire to upgrade only to expand. Glad I have set myself up with a platform that will do well with an upgrade if do so desire
