Maybe try a different cable after verifying it on another system.
Yep, a very simple test settles it really, i just inverted the L and R earpices, in the same cable the L works on both connectors, the R earpice does not work in eitherā¦
Just an update, the RMA is created and Sennheiser asked me to remove some washers from their cables before i ship them out, apparently there is some known issue with the mmcx connectors on their cables.
So as far as i can tell there are two known issues:
- Cables start acting up because of the washer;
- Drivers just die randomly (both on IE600 and IE900);
I must say i am extremely disappointed with Sennheiserās quality control on these, hopefully customer service will be better but i am not impressed so far.
One would think purchasing a flagship product from a manufacturer such as Sennheiser would mean we donāt have to deal with this sort of thing, but it is what it isā¦
Has anyone had the pleasure of the IE 200? I saw a bunch of reviews saying it was basically just a less resolving 600.
Iām not 100 % what I want from an IEM yet, but I thought they were worth a shot. Although not burned in yet, I must say, I was immediately impressed. Very natural sounding. Not as well defined images as some other IEMs as I am currently auditioning and thereās something slightly off about the treble timbre, they are still a very fun listen.
Iāll continue to burn them in and compare them to other horses in the running but pretty great-sounding out of the box for Ā£120ish.
I have both the ie200 and the ie900.
The ie200 is the very best at its price point imo, but the ie900 completely wipes the floor with the 200, its not close at all.
To me the ie200 has a very simple soundstage and imaging and its bass is a āone noteā bass. Other than that it is well tuned, comfortable and as i said, the very best at its price.
If you can though, imo the ie900 is worth every cent over the ie200.
