I 100% agree you should listen first. I personaly liked them a fair bit, but depending on what exactly you like about ZMF they may not be fantastic for you. They do sound far more normal than the ca1a but they still arent fully normal. Detail is insane as is expected, but prestation is a little wierd. It stages and separates well, but images arent always were I am use to hearing them. On a personal level, id love to spend more time with them, but they arent worth the 10k yolo imo.
Has anyone tried the Immanis?
In case anyone is interested in some brief impressions.
As above impressions link describe, I had the Magna and Immanis for last two days. They are both exceptional, I am switching my pre-order over to Immanis. It is my favorite headphone of the 40+ I have tried.
Excellent write-up. Thank you. It’s a shame that the Stratus pairing isn’t ideal even with the new headphones.
Thank you for the kind words.
Regarding Stratus, I no longer have a pre-amp and I am kicking myself for it. I think an active gain pre-amp and a good 4-5 volt DAC output might do the trick. The sound was really very nice.
How was comfort with your time with them?
LOL, I guess I failed to address that in my impressions.
I find them very comfortable. The strap and suspension system creates no hot spots. The clamp is very light compared to most planars. The Magna feel small and light, but with still a sizable cup so at least my ears are not crowded. The Immanis are noticeable heavier, but the over all comfort allowed me to listen for hours with no complaint. You notice them after awhile compared to the SR1a or something light like the HD800s, but they never annoyed me like a RAD-0 or the HD600 series which clamp significantly more.
The Immanis is 618 grams
The Magna is 518 grams
Hi All, I forgot to share Raal 1995 Magna Impressions here in case anyone is interested and does not frequent head-fi.
