OG Cavalli amp thread, Liquid Fire / Liquid Gold / Liquid Glass / Liquid Carbon / Liquid Crimson / Liquid Lightning

Interesting. I found it a bit almost wollier than 13r but I do agree it’s more extended than 13r (13r is in the very upper echelon of what level of roll is possible in solid state though imo)

I did find this as well. Ayazi mk2 did a great job brining up the extension and energy but it’s on the more energetic side its self.

Now this is exceptionally interesting to hear. Tbh I had to go pretty heavy handed tube wise with the LC to get the energy and incisiveness I wanted. The LG doing that easier makes it quite interesting tbh

I could see that depending on the pairing

The glass is pretty different from both the crimson and gold imo, I would say the crimson leans more like the gold rather than glass

And what tubes were that? I have amperex bb 6dj8s & 7308s and a telefunken 7dj8 on hand. I would think the tele would give it what it needs as TFs are usually more clean and detailed.

so I now have a couple hours with @Draaly’s Liquid Crimson, paired with my Wavedream Signature, Danacable Diamond Reference RCAs and driving on low gain the D8KP LE with Prion4.

I’m kinda puzzled on how I feel about it so far.
Some tracks were a little boring, some have a bit more energy and engagement but still not quite where I like it I think.
At the moment I’m leaning towards saying it’s fun but not the best I’ve heard the LE.
It has nice bass, stage is above average, lively macro. Not crazy detailed but doesn’t feel too smooth to a point where it’s a fault but more a design choice I guess? it does have enough texture.

If you are missing some spice that can be adjusted with tube to a certain extent (currently has Telefunken from the 60s in it), but I woild overall agree that the major downside of the amp is missing a bit energy.

The Carbon v1, any good?

I likewise prefer the LG over the LAu for most of my cans except for more sensitive ones like my Utopia 2020, where the noise floor on most tubes, even lower gain 12AU7’s, can be audible. Then again, my ECP DSHA-FN (nickel transformers) is my preferred ss amp pairing with my Utopia’s over the LAu. I think the LG is a bit more lively than the LAu depending on the tubes. When it comes down to it, I’d sell off my LAu way before my LG (never selling this one ever).
