LB-acoustics MYSPHERE 3.1/3.2

I’m more curious about the sub than actually having a plan to why do it… when I do pick up the mysphere it’s not for music that’ll require subbass.
I simply don’t get to it these days because of the D8KPLE. It’s all I use lately.

I do think the mysphere with the Zahl’s soundstage knob is going to be really cool though

The Bass frames work well on the EC Studio, the DNA’s more relaxed nature I think plays into it, not that they were objectional there, just on occasion they seemed too bass fowards.
Having said that I used them on the low impedance tap of the DNA, and I could see definitely wanting the transparent’s on the Hi impedance tap.

These days the mysphere on my chain has been coming across as a bit too clean now. It didn’t bother me before but I guess things just change.

Don’t get me wrong, it still sounds great but maybe my ears are just ready to try it on the ha300 (which should be here sometime next week!). Lol

@M0N how big did you think the delta was for the 3.1 vs 3.2 on the crayon?
trying to get a rough sense on how much i’d be potentially missing out since I don’t have the 3.2

3.2 all the way, that amp really favors the 3.2 by a large margin

I got my Mysphere 3.2 about 2 months ago,
I already sold a bunch of my other Headphones, and more need to go.
I really like them. Im looking for a Balanced Cable currently and Im browsing amplifiers and their pairings.
M0n has already been quite helpful, but I wanted to ask wheter anyone here has tried them with the tor balanced amp, or a dethonray pegasus?
And whats your best amp pairing under 1k and 2k, my Questyle cma 600i is quite nice, but its always nice to have more boxes to plug into, Im especially looking for something warm and sweet.

Ended up getting a pair of transparent frame cushions as i wanted a bit more treble energy with the modwright pairing. To me the T frame cushions definitely leaned the mysphere into the lean dry side of things, and a bit polite in the bass but the treble energy was right where I wanted it to be.

I was a bit disappointed with the matchup and was tempted to switch back to standard, but before that i tried swapping the digital filter on my DAC for some hope. I went from FIR to IIR which ime is the most natural sounding one. I typically don’t like this filter with the mysphere though but to my surprise it was a damn good match. Pretty much addressed all my issues and the balance here is just right. Sounds fantastic!

Or just get on board with the MySphere love, and move on from the Susvara.

But I like bass

Haven’t heard mysphere so don’t know about it’s bass but I’d probably want more.

They have plenty of bass, the issue really is only sub bass.
They’ll never compete with the 1266 for slam, but then neither will a Susvara…..

It sounds like it would be a downside but honestly I think it’s quite good, great even (quantity is good too). They just won’t instantly impress you like a d8kp (at least with my current chain) imo. Even then I actually think the mysphere bass is more realistic than d8kp…

I’d take mysphere bass over utopia any day of the week lol

The MySphere seems severely rolled off by the looks of it. There’s also a major peak in the mids which looks interesting.

It might look that way, but that’s not how it sounds.
If anything with the bass frames I think the bass is too forwards on a lot of amps.

Maybe move the prior two comments to my post for context @Polygonhell

Edit:
These two

I think the LB acoustics ear compensated graph probably lines up the most with what I hear. You have to consider that for headphones like these, the measurements will look pretty off without compensation and through traditional methods, and isn’t going to look right without compensation compared to designs that seal

Also nice to see a mfg actually post an impedance measurement

Ahh, gotcha.

@M0N, could you move those other two posts for context? Otherwise it just looks like I was bashing the MySpheres when the reality is that the post was already taken off topic.

Moved, although had to do it in an awkward way

Only thing mysphere was realy missing to my ears was super low reach sub-bass, but I don’t find basicaly anything has that tbh. The impact from mysphere was totaly fine imo.

No, I appreciate it.

Thank you.

Comfort for long sessions. Still can’t beat the really comfy headphones on my head at least.
Continuing my non-audio related take - best headphones for after a shower or beard wash and best headphones for night time when you need to hear if one of your kids gets up unexpectedly looking for you lol
