I k is you’ve stated it before but do you have the allnic 3k or 5k?
I was looking at this one to pair with the 3.1 which I think mon mentioned a better synergy while the 3.2 was better matched to the 5k. Wasn’t sure if the synergy is that great between allnic and Mysphere and if this was priced appropriately for that bump.
This is my current setup ROON Rock - Intel NUC 7i7 > EMM Labs NS1 > [AES] Mojo Audio Mystique EVO B4B 21 > Custom 45/6SN7 Tube Only Supratek Cabernet DHT > [RCA] Allnic HPA-5000XL > Mysphere 3.2
I am not too sure if I mentioned it in this forum or if it was in the other forum, but to me Allnic house sound is “delicate” and pretty neutral. I have seen the word “Ethereal” used a lot on Allnic reviews and I do agree. If excitement and big bass is something you are looking for, my Allnic amp won’t do that. It is more of a low-key beauty-in-the-sound kind of amp. Its really addicting with classical and female vocals with acoustic music, even some classical orchestras depending on what instruments are in there.
I never used the HPA-3000GT, but the Allnic HPA-5000XL by itself is a great headphone amp, but its been a while since I used it without the 45 tube preamp. Based on memory and what I wrote from the other thread, my 45 tube preamp greatly improves the Allnic amp layering and imaging. I feel like midrange improve as well just because 45 tubes does magical wonders in the midrange to me on my other equipment, especially in my speaker setup. I think having a colored DAC, or a tube DAC will pair really nicely to the Allnic house to be more addicting, especially in the midrange. That’s me though, I enjoy a little color in my music, especially if it’s done tastefully.
On my setup, the Mysphere 3.2 is really high resolution in the midrange that I am shock after listening 3 weeks on the Platimon and I ran through a gauntlet of headphones this week including the Susvara, Raal SR1a. I mentioned I like the midrange currently better on the Mysphere 3.2 over my Platimon and I think my Platimon blew everything in the water when it comes to technicalities compare to my other headphone collection. The Mysphere 3.2 was the only one I still find impressive after really enjoying the Platimon. The Mysphere 3.2 is a really good headphone that I always smile when having a listening session with the Mysphere 3.2.
Just got a quote for the bass and transparent frames a bit too high for me right now.
“ Thank you for your email. I have one set each (Bass and Transparent) available. The price is $475 each pair. If you want to get them both I could do $800 for you.”
No words can do justice for this chain… RCA Globe 45s with the Mysphere 3.2 is just
Of course the 1st headphone I wanted to try the RCA 45 Globe is with the Mysphere 3.2. I can’t think of any better vocal headphone for my taste other than the Mysphere 3.2. Short answer is the Mysphere 3.2 infused with the RCA 45 Globe tubes in my audio chain blood freaking rule. I don’t know if the EML 45 mesh tubes I had was not good or what. Usually I see people prefer EML 45 tubes over vintage 45 Globe, but my preference is usually pretty different from a lot of people. With the RCA 45 Globe with the Mysphere 3.2 is absolute quietness (weird to describe this feeling), clearer midrange and a more beautiful midrange somehow? Man, I’m so glad I got to experience this rare experience because this feels absolute bliss.
The below 2 songs really stuck with me and I really enjoy them the most with the Mysphere. I also just been mainly listening to vocals focus song because it’s just so addicting in my system.
Female Vocals:
誰にも言わない (Darenimo Iwanai) Live Version - Hikaru Utada Live Sessions from the Air Studio
Thinking optimistically, I wonder if that means a new Mysphere is in the works
I created a wishlist of what I would like to see differently in the new Mysphere:
Wishlist:
I wish the drivers didn’t vibrate for loud volume. Whenever bass is involved, I feel like I hear the drivers shaking because the vocals will sound like they are shaking until I lower the volume.
I wish it used the popular 3.5 TRS instead of the TRRS. It makes it easier to buy used headphone headphones for a better deal and shop for headphone cables instead of asking for specifics.
A lot of people complain about comfort and fitting. Even though I am not one of those people who have issues with fitting, I did see some issues and letting people use the Mysphere through meets or just letting people use them in general. I saw that sometimes the Mysphere will sometimes not fit someone’s head and it just fits weirdly on people. Maybe a better adjustable headband or something similar to that nature?
Yep, that’s about it lol. I guess I could nitpick deeper bass extension or if I want something more smooth sounding to go along with my vintage RCA tubes. But I honestly don’t think about those things when listening to the Mysphere. Each time, I always feel like I just get blown away by its amazing transparency and clarity in the midrange, and yet still sounds so organic and not analytical at all. Not to mention its unique wide soundstage and pretty amazing phantom center imaging at least on my setup. The Mysphere 3.2 to me sounds almost perfect the way it is for my musical enjoyment. In terms of the build quality, I like the way the Mysphere looks. I think it looks really futuristic and I really like the idea that the headphone is magnetically built together and you can easily remove some parts because its magnetically attached to each other. The Mysphere 3.2 adjustable slides to move the frames seem alright to me. I saw some people post that their frames were damaged, but I honestly don’t really move my frame unless I let someone else wear them. So I think the build quality is cool, but I won’t be upset if they decide to change it altogether to make it look more like a headphone like what Raal did with their newer product.
Last year around this time, I bought the Raal SR1a, Susvara, Mysphere 3.2 and still owned the ATH-L3000. I sold about all of them except the Mysphere 3.2 but realized I still needed a closed-back, so I bought a pretty good closed-back. Of course, I would still own all of them if I had money like that and not funding my speaker setup, but the Mysphere 3.2 would still get the most time out of all of them for music enjoyment. The most used would be the Raal Sr1a since I use the SR1a more for casual uses like watching TV and stuff to not burn up tubes until I have gotten better speakers with the Midgard. Susvara is still my all-rounder champ for any genre, but the way mids were conveyed with the Mysphere 3.2 just feels so right to me that everything else just feels either close but not what I’m looking for or just not it all together. For example, I used to really like listening to the Sennheiser HD580 Jubilee for mids because that was one of the more “transparent” and “tonally correct mids” I heard from a headphone. Then, the day I compared it to the Mysphere 3.2, one of my favorite headphones ever which was the HD580 Jubilee, I just stopped listening to the HD580 Jubilee. This might be an exaggeration, but Mysphere 3.2 kinda changed the way I looked at listening to digital music because I never thought digital music could sound so real and so right in my entire life. I still stand by my first impression that it was one of the first headphones where it still feels like I am listening to the performer/artist directly (its like no equipment is being used) and it gives me the ultimate immersion I experience in a headphone. It’s a very subjective opinion, but that’s my subjective opinion of how I still feel about the Mysphere 3.2. So 1 year later, the Mysphere 3.2 is still my favorite headphone and still in my collection.
Whenever that new Mysphere comes out, I still will probably still own the Mysphere 3.2 unless the new Mysphere somehow takes midrange to the next level I never thought possible and completely obsolete the Mysphere 3.2. But, I will drive to another city or even fly to an event like CanJam to try out whatever cool audio gear Heinz Renner is cooking if he is making another headphone…
Since I am getting an amp that is balance only, I was looking up cables for both my Mysphere 3.2 and Onkyo A800 since they share the same headphone connector.
Long story short, I found a post that they have the same headphone connector as the Audeze LCD-1 uses. I bought a cheap LCD-1 cable to test it out and it works!
So if you want to buy an after market cable, but the cable company doesn’t straight up say it’s for Mysphere 3.2, try looking for Audeze LCD-1 compatibility’s and it should work. You can also just buy the LCD-1 replacement cable I link above for a cheap 3.5mm connection.
