LAMM Industries thread, M1 / ML 2 / ML3 / LL1 / LL2 / L2 / LP1 / LP2

Now that this thread is bumped again lol, should mention I got the critical mass systems qxk racks in, using their black platinum shelves, and it’s a fantastic upgrade for the LL1.1 sig, now I’ve got isolation covered for both the amps with the sra and the pre with the cms (also great for the digital gear too)

You mean you didn’t try sorbothane feet to see if that was good enough first?

I tried a variety of footer options, some better than others, but only what I had on hand, the qxk is an extremely significant improvement over anything I’ve tried. So far it really seems like lamm chassis really don’t have great isolation out of the box, so it really seems to help to improve on that front (vs other stuff of it’s price class). Previously I was just using solid maple wood blocks a friend made and stacking them, since I never had enough footers for all 4 boxes without robbing them from other gear

So there’s isolation in the individual platform itself it looks like on those QXK? They’re fairly beefy and I can’t find a technical description of what they do. I’m glad it’s made it all even better, but you kind of knew that going in. Interesting your observation that out of the box the LAMM stuff wasn’t great.

Basically there’s different levels of shelves that are meant for different things (like the diamond shelf for turntables, and a lower end one than the one I have for less important stuff), and they are the shelves themselves not anything extra, so you need one of the 3 options for each tier on the shelf (basically there’s the actual spacers and the frame for the shelves, then the shelves go on it that actually holds the stuff)

Yeah not much is said about them lol

I had been searching for SRA bases for a ml3 to pop up for awhile and finally snagged them when I got the chance, but also had been eying cms stuff for a long time but always felt it was too expensive, but decided to pull the trigger finally after how good the sra stuff was and how large of a difference that made, was both worth it in the end lol

Bit tapped out after these and some other upgrades that I’ve been making in the past months so any extra isolation love for the other setup will have to wait for awhile lol (and slowly making my way though preamps)
