That actually looks impressive and I like the fact that you can use a quality external PS to scale it further. It’s got the kind of clocking hardware I wish the new Holo DDC streamer had. $500 is pretty reasonable as well.

Does it do something on paper at least better than the Singxer?

just curious do you have a link to a decent PS that you would pair with it?

I’m looking to buy a new streamer/ddc/ps supply combo for my 2 channel. Probably going to get a wiim pro + this + another PS.

From my experience power supplies vary most in sound when they’re feeding a DAC, I hadn’t experienced much variety in sound when they’re connected to non DAC devices. I’ve had a high end power supply improve the sound a lot when I used it to power USB cleaners and reclockers but in a DAC a power supply can actually nudge the sonic signature. Not speaking broad terms here, just my experience.

You can save yourself a lot of money by buying power supplies that support multiple voltage outputs as well. Take a look at the video below, it’s a good overview of what’s out there and how expensive you can go. For powering up routers and cable modem and network switches I just use decent chi-fi PS. But if it’s touching the audio stream that going into a streamer or DAC I go higher end.

Dunno, in this instance I was just comparing it to what I would have wanted to see in the Holo Streamer/DDC. A lot of this stuff also depend on matching to the level of your chain. You wouldn’t likely plunk down $5k on a streamer/reclocker if you were going to connect it to a $1000 DAC. The same way you probably wouldn’t connect a $500 reclocker to a $8K DAC. You’d likely see improvements regardless but level matching is always a safe bet.

I’ve spoken to M0N about this in the past and there are times when a clock can have no impact or be a detriment to a DAC if the DAC is of a greatly superior tier.

I keep thinking of looking into a ā€œbetter psuā€ for the lumin i got from you. The LTA ones always look great but are pricey new. Used i have not looked, but it would need to be one that matches the lumin.

I also have no idea how much it would improve over the one i have now, or if 90% of the battle was getting it out of the main box, or if its worth the cash.

I think the latter and then you’re working on how much is worth how much. I think out of that Lumin you’re already getting close to its best. Those Small Greem Computer power supplies are pretty good and a cut above Chi-Fi already.

I just picked up an iFi Elite power supply and it’s pretty good, especially given its modest price.

That would be price appropriate I think, especially if he can justify a use for the existing PS bumping up performance elsewhere.

That’s what I was thinking. They’re actually very good, too. iFi’s ANC tech works really well, IMO. I heard improvements using a Supanova cable with the MZ3, and that Linear PSU is a big part of LTA’s magic.

I figured it’s worth a shot with a nice streamer (or anything reasonable with an PSU).

Looks like Flux Lab is starting up production again, and also coming out with a new product. Here’s to hoping they can continue their operations safely.

There has been several instances now where I’ve seen mention that Hifiman lowered the price on the HEKv2 due to the fact that they are/will be releasing a Stealth version (HEK Stealth) not sure of naming. I thought the HEKse was the ā€˜stealth’ maybe it was Special Edition instead?

The topper for me is that I ran across posts where somebody in EU (Gernany??) said that they have them, and were listening to them now, pictures of of box, cables included etc.

I checked my watch, its not April… Has anyone else heard of this or am I the most gullible?

As far as I know HEKse has stealth magnets

I’m not sure its a prank or not over on head-fi, but if it is there are at least two participants promoting it.

Digging a little more. Looks somewhat suspicious

But if it’s legit, might be something to give a listen with.

Some used to call the SE a V3 and that link just looks like a shop doing a terrible job at matching name photos and description for an existing product but I might be wrong.

Yes I believe this is the case, it could be an updated HE1000V2

The product code on the linked page is even
Product Code: HIFIMAN-HE1000V2

That didn’t have stealth magnets.
Most of the rest of the description is just parroting the changes from the OG HE1000 to the HE1000V2.

Looks like there are 3 outfits in Germany selling the HE1000 V2 Stealth, so could be an updated 1000v2 now with Stealth Magnets ? It’s a pretty ornate scam if it is not legit.
